v1.8.3
Fixed
- A Sonarr search for a show no longer returns its companion programme
under the show's name. iPlayer lists a companion whose BBC title is the
show's name followed by a colon (<Show>: <something>), such as "The
Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked", "MasterChef: The Professionals" or "Top
Gear: Extra Gear", as a programme of its own beside the main show, and
it often uses the main show's episode numbers. iplayer-arr returned
those episodes renamed to the main show, with its episode numbers and
TVDB ID, so Sonarr saw two releases for the same episode and could grab
the companion. Now, when iPlayer has a programme titled exactly the
searched name, only that programme is returned. Companions are still
found when Sonarr tracks them as their own series, and a show iPlayer
lists only under a longer name ("Talking Tom Heroes: Suddenly Super"
for "Talking Tom Heroes") is still found under its Sonarr name.
Other programmes titled the same way are no longer offered for the
main show either. In every case found, iplayer-arr had offered them
under a title Sonarr could not use correctly: one-off specials such as
"Gavin & Stacey: A Fond Farewell" had a date in the title, which Sonarr
does not accept for a standard (non-daily) series, and programmes such
as "EastEnders: Christmas 1986 - 2007" were numbered as the show's
first episodes (EastEnders S01E01, S01E02). GitHub #58. - Video downloads are now constant frame rate, with every frame at its
exact time, so they should play smoothly. Every video download from the
BBC's HLS streams was affected, whatever its frame rate, not only 50 fps
ones. The BBC's packager writes timestamps that mark most B-frames to be
shown before they are decoded, and ffmpeg's copy into MP4 "guessed" new
timestamps for each of them, so MediaInfo showed a variable frame rate
with a maximum of 90,000 fps, frames were shown out of step, and on some
programmes the picture stuttered badly. ffmpeg now ignores the stream's
decode timestamps and rebuilds them from the presentation timestamps,
which are right, so nothing is guessed. Audio sync is unchanged. Files
downloaded before this fix stay as they are; the upgrade notes say how
to replace them. GitHub #59.
Upgrade notes - Shows with a companion on iPlayer include The Celebrity Traitors, The
Traitors, MasterChef, The Apprentice, Gladiators, Top Gear, Race Across
the World and Doctor Who. Episodes Sonarr imported for them before this
release may be companion content, for example an Uncloaked episode filed
as The Celebrity Traitors. They are worth checking; delete any wrong
file and search for the episode again. After-shows such as Uncloaked,
Unleashed or You're Fired! run about half an hour, shorter than the
main episode, but length does not help with MasterChef: The
Professionals, whose episodes run about an hour like MasterChef's.
Check those against the episode's air date or synopsis on TVDB.
MasterChef is the show most likely to have wrong files: for series 16
to 18, iPlayer has one MasterChef episode each but 21 episodes of The
Professionals with the same series numbers. - Releases of these shows that Sonarr already holds as pending can still
be grabbed after the upgrade, because the NZB download link carries only
the episode and quality and does not check the name again. Remove
pending iplayer-arr releases for them from Sonarr's queue (Activity,
Queue) so Sonarr searches again. - An affected file shows a variable frame rate with a maximum of 90,000
fps in MediaInfo; a file that shows a constant frame rate does not need
replacing. To replace a file downloaded before the GitHub #59 fix,
first delete its entry from History on iplayer-arr's dashboard, unless
Sonarr or Radarr has already removed it (their "Remove Completed"
setting for the download client does that). Then delete the file in
Sonarr or Radarr and search for it again. While the old entry is still
in History, iplayer-arr answers the new grab with the old, completed
download, and nothing new is downloaded. Only programmes still on
iPlayer can be downloaded again.
