๐Ÿงช 2.11.0 Beta 6

A code review of the whole integration found a number of older bugs โ€” none of them new in the 2.11 betas. This beta fixes them.

External reference sensor (cooldown, ready, max temperature)

  • A short gap of the external sensor no longer hands decisions to the heater's own sensor. The 10-minute grace period existed only as a log message: as soon as a BLE sensor dropped out, the cooldown could end on the internal reading, its confirmation count was reset, and the maximum temperature and the heat-up trend mixed both sensors. Now the integration waits for up to 10 minutes, then falls back to the internal sensor (logged once).

Push connections

  • Fewer missed messages: the periodic reconnect counted each keep-alive as 5 minutes โ€” with keep-alives about a minute apart that means a reconnect roughly every 6 minutes instead of every 30 โ€” and every reconnect waited 10 seconds for a reply the cloud never sends. Both are fixed: it reconnects after 30 minutes of real time, right away, without the 10-second wait. This is a possible cause of the lost "heater on" message in #14.
  • After a password change the push connections no longer try to log in every 1โ€“2 seconds (risking a lockout): a refused login is retried every 15 minutes, and Home Assistant asks for the new password as before.
  • A refused subscription now reconnects instead of staying silent (and a refused token is dropped, so the next attempt logs in again), and Cloud connection no longer shows "connected" while a connection is down.
  • If the push connections cannot start at setup (e.g. a timeout), Home Assistant now retries the setup instead of leaving the integration failed until a manual reload. On Fenix, push no longer stays off for the whole runtime after such a failure.

Other fixes

  • Smart preheat: setting "Next session" while the sauna is running (e.g. tomorrow morning, set during this evening's session) no longer cancels it at once. A running sauna still counts as fulfilling the schedule when the planned start is due. While the external sensor is briefly gone, the plan is kept and a start that becomes due is still triggered on time.
  • Ambilight: a colour you set yourself is no longer taken for the integration's own echo and painted over; and at session end the lights are only reset to the everyday standard if Ambilight is on.
  • Session counters: Sessions today no longer shows yesterday's count after an overnight restart, Sessions this week resets on Monday instead of when the week's first session ends, and both follow Home Assistant's time zone.
  • Energy: a long data gap during heat-up (Home Assistant or the cloud down) no longer adds the whole gap at full power โ€” at most 10 minutes count.
  • Fenix: switches without a Fenix command (auto light, aroma, auto fan, dehumidifier) now report an error instead of pretending to switch; the Wi-Fi signal from the state feed is used; and a poll no longer overwrites a newer state that arrived by push meanwhile.
  • harvia_sauna.set_session: the duration is rounded down to whole hours (at least 60 minutes), like the number entity and the presets โ€” the heater does that anyway.

Everything from Beta 1โ€“5 is included โ€” including the note on automations that use Power (Xenio).

This is a pre-release. Enable "Show beta versions" for the integration in HACS to test it.
