Changelog

New features

• A new tab called Waydroid options has been added to the Settings app for configuring Waydroid
• Reworked Audio HAL, which improves stability and brings slightly better audio latency performance
• All new features in Android 17 :P

Bug fixes

• Fixed crashing on non-wlroots Wayland compositors
• Fixed compatibility with Magisk/KernelSU and keystore hooking modules (TrickyStore/TEESimulator)
• Host volume level will no longer be reset during Android boot
• Don't kill host processes on Android shutdown (#43)
• Fixed booting on systems without camera devices

Other changes

• Bump security patch to 2026-10
• Mesa updated to version 26.2.5
• Update device fingerprint to A17
• Use minigbm_gbm_mesa on AMD GPUs by default for better compatibility (consider switching back to minigbm in Settings > System > Waydroid settings if you need camera support)

Known issues

• The pre-installed browser crashes randomly when navigating

Installation

# equivalent to factory reset, all data will be LOST
rm -rf ~/.local/share/waydroid
rm -rf /var/lib/waydroid/overlay*
sudo waydroid init -f

Method 1: Install with waydroid command (recommended)

• Re-initialize Waydroid with WayDroid-ATV OTA server (NOTE: replace GAPPS with VANILLA if you want non-GApps build)

sudo waydroid init -f \
  -c https://waydroid-atv.github.io/ota/a17-qpr0/system \
  -v https://waydroid-atv.github.io/ota/a17-qpr0/vendor \
  -r lineage \
  -s GAPPS

• Download images with Waydroid

sudo waydroid upgrade

Method 2: Download and install manually

• Download lineage-24.0-xxxxxxx-GAPPS-waydroid_xxxxx-system.zip and lineage-24.0-xxxxxxx-MAINLINE-waydroid_xxxxx-vendor.zip below (NOTE: replace GAPPS with VANILLA if you want non-GApps build)
• Extract system.img and vendor.img from the downloaded archives
• Copy system.img and vendor.img to /etc/waydroid-extra/images/:

sudo mkdir -p /etc/waydroid-extra/images/
sudo cp <PATH TO SYSTEM IMAGE> /etc/waydroid-extra/images/system.img
sudo cp <PATH TO VENDOR IMAGE> /etc/waydroid-extra/images/vendor.img

• Re-initialize Waydroid setup:

sudo waydroid init -f
