The same-day hotfix for Beta 7's field reports, every one reproduced before it was fixed. If Beta 7 gave you Dolby Vision that hung, failed instantly, or fell to HDR10, this is the build that puts it right.

Dolby Vision plays again, and starts fast. Beta 7's player rework shipped a thirty-six second startup requirement against a player that gives up at ten, rejected the timestamps a resume produces, and killed its own stream when its memory spool filled a few seconds into a 4K play, so titles hung, failed instantly on resume, or died mid-play and dropped to HDR10. Seven distinct causes were each matched to a field diagnostic log and reproduced red-then-green against the real remux pipeline; fresh starts now answer in about four seconds, resumes play, and long plays keep going. Every remaining failure path now logs its reason, so nothing can die silently again.

The Dolby Vision player names its audio and subtitles. The audio menu showed a single Unknown entry because the playlist advertised no audio at all for files whose tracks differ in codec. The main track is now properly named with honest channel and Atmos labeling, alternate tracks appear, and built-in text subtitles keep their names. Image-based subtitles remain out of scope, exactly as before.

Community (Singularity) sources show their real details. Every pooled row rendered as "Other" with no quality, size, or seeders, even though the pool carries all of it. Rows now show their resolution, size, and seeders, rank like any other source, carry a provider mark only when your own configured service was seen to have the source cached, merge away when your add-ons already found the same source, and unlabeled legacy rows are bounded instead of filling the list.

All four scores, everywhere. Cards, the detail page's main rating line, and freshly baked portrait posters carry IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic, and TMDB together instead of IMDb alone. Add-on catalogs whose posters arrive pre-baked with their own scores pass through untouched now. Turning on ERDB artwork can no longer blank your art: a miss falls back to the art the app already had.

The diagnostic-log export shows its QR the first time you open it. A brief spinner covers the cold start of the one-time local link.

In-place update over Beta 7, nothing resets.

Please test

• Dolby Vision, the main ask. Fresh-start a DV title: it should show its first frame in well under ten seconds with the TV in DOLBY VISION. Resume a partly-watched DV title: it should continue, not fail. Play a 4K DV title past the first minute: no mid-play death. Open the audio menu: named tracks, not Unknown; the subtitle menu: your file's named text subtitles.
• Singularity rows. On a title with many sources, the Singularity rows should show resolution and size, and no longer duplicate what your add-ons already found.
• Ratings. Cards and the detail page should show all four scores where the title has them; a pre-baked add-on poster should keep its own scores.
• Diag export. First open shows a spinner then the QR.

If anything is off, export the diagnostic log and open an issue; failures now name their causes in the log.

Install

Mac (.dmg, easiest, never expires). Download VortX-macOS-v0.3.14-beta.8-ci.dmg, drag VortX into Applications, then clear Apple's one-time quarantine: open it once, click Done, then System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway (or run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/VortX.app). iPhone, iPad, Apple TV (sideload the IPA). The IPAs are unsigned, because VortX is open-source and distributed outside the App Store with no Apple Developer ID yet, so you re-sign them yourself with Sideloadly, AltStore / SideStore, or Signulous. Android. This hotfix is Apple-only; the current Android build remains Beta 6. On Android TV or Fire TV, the Downloader app with dl.vortx.tv still fetches the newest APK.

Each Apple asset lists a SHA-256 checksum (SHA256SUMS-ci.txt) so you can confirm your download matches what the public GitHub Actions workflow built from this code.
