0.3.14 Beta 31 - production-signed Android release candidate (Android versionCode 189)

Android Beta 31 is the first VortX Android beta released with the production signing identity. It provides one Full APK using the VortX mpv engine plus Play APK and AAB artifacts using Media3 with the GPL native-player boundary enforced. It is the hardware-validation candidate for Android phone, Android TV, and Fire TV. Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, and Mac remain on Beta 30 build 232. This release adds Android artifacts only.

What's new

A production-signed Android release lane. Every Android artifact is bound to the v0.3.14-beta.31 tag and source commit, verified against the pinned production certificate, and published with checksums and signer provenance.

Full and Play distributions. The Full APK is the sideloadable VortX mpv-engine build. The Play APK and Play AAB use the Media3 engine. Protected validation continues to enforce the Play GPL native-player boundary.

Universal APK support includes 32-bit Fire TV. The Full and Play APKs include arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, and x86_64 native slices. The armeabi-v7a slice is intended for compatible 32-bit Fire TV hardware on Android 8 / API 26 or newer.

Verification completed in CI

• Both Android flavors build successfully.
• All three ABI directories and required JNI exports are checked.
• The Play flavor is scanned for forbidden GPL native libraries.
• The two APKs and AAB are checked against the pinned production signer.
• Release provenance binds the artifacts to tag v0.3.14-beta.31 and source commit c185ca123fd2e6e75636c2c5153491eefdadaaa7.

Hardware validation still requested

No physical Android or Fire TV device was connected to the release machine. Device-specific install and upgrade, remote focus, HDR/Dolby Vision, torrent resume, and sustained-playback checks remain follow-up validation, not completed claims.

Upgrade note for preview users

The Beta 10 and Beta 12 preview APKs used an older preview certificate. Android cannot install Beta 31 over those builds. Uninstall the preview build before installing Beta 31. Future production-signed Android updates use the Beta 31 signing identity.
