VortX 0.3.11 (build 159, pre-release). Build 158 plus community sources that play through your own debrid or TorBox, every kind. Everything from build 158 is here too: native cache-check for AllDebrid and Premiumize, sign in to your VortX account on Apple TV by QR (not only Stremio), reorder your add-ons in the app, Apple TV returns you to the episode you are actually on after auto-play, the back-to-top button, the account and add-on security hardening, the Mac crash and source-list freeze fixes, exact-source Continue Watching and Play from start, true Dolby Vision on Apple TV, and the iPhone and iPad download fix. In testing; this becomes the 0.3.12 release once it is verified on-device. In-place update, nothing resets.
New in build 159
- Community sources now play through your own debrid or TorBox, every kind. With community sources turned on and signed in, pooled torrent, usenet, and direct sources all surface now (before, only torrents showed and none were checked against your own account). Each one is now checked against, and resolved through, your OWN account: a torrent through your debrid (TorBox, AllDebrid, or Premiumize), a usenet source through your TorBox usenet, a direct link played as-is. So a community source you can play gets the instant badge, ranks with your other cached sources, and plays straight through your account with no add-on in the middle. Only a source's public identity is ever shared (an infohash, an nzb link, or a plain link); the playable link is always re-created on your own device with your own keys.
Also in build 159 (from build 158)
- Cached sources on your own AllDebrid or Premiumize account now resolve natively, the same way TorBox already did. A torrent your AllDebrid or Premiumize account has cached gets the instant badge and plays straight through your account, no add-on resolving it first. Real-Debrid removed its cache-check upstream in late 2024, so Real-Debrid sources keep resolving through your add-ons. No change unless you have an AllDebrid or Premiumize key, and any hiccup falls back to the old behavior.
- Apple TV can sign in to your VortX account by QR, not only Stremio. The Apple TV sign-in screen leads with VortX. It shows a QR and a short code; on your phone or a browser already signed in to VortX, scan the QR (or open vortx.tv/approve and enter the code) and approve, and the TV signs into your VortX account and pulls your add-ons and library. Your account key is handed to that TV with an end-to-end key exchange, so the relay never sees it. Connecting a Stremio account stays available as a secondary step. Scan the TV's QR with your phone camera, a typed code alone is not enough because the device key travels in the QR.
- Reorder your add-ons right in the app (iPhone, iPad, Mac), Apple TV: Back after continuous play returns to the episode you are now on, a back-to-top button on Home and Discover, and a round of account and add-on security hardening.
- From build 155: the Mac crash and source-list freeze fixes, Play from start replays the same source, instant Continue Watching resume, the iPhone and iPad download fix, and true Dolby Vision on Apple TV (Match Dynamic Range must be on in tvOS Settings, Video and Audio, Match Content).
See CHANGELOG.md for the complete list.
Please test
- Community sources (with TorBox): turn on community sources, sign in, and open a popular title. Pooled sources should appear under Singularity, a cached one should show the instant badge, and it should play straight through your TorBox account.
- AllDebrid or Premiumize (if you have a key): a source your AllDebrid or Premiumize account has cached should show the instant badge and play through your account.
- Apple TV, sign in to VortX: open Sign In on the Apple TV, scan the QR with your phone (signed in to VortX at vortx.tv), tap Approve this device. The TV should sign into VortX and load your add-ons and library.
- Apple TV, back to episode: start a series, let auto-play carry you into a later episode, then press Back or Menu. Details should land on the episode you ended up on.
- Apple TV, Dolby Vision: play a true Dolby Vision file with Match Dynamic Range on, confirm the TV shows Dolby Vision, not HDR10.
- Mac: open a huge-source-list movie while sources load and open/close a few titles. No crash, stays responsive.
- iPhone or iPad: download a large file, including with the screen locked. It should finish.
Install
Mac (.dmg, easiest, never expires). Download VortX-macOS-v0.3.11-b159-ci.dmg, drag VortX into Applications, then clear Apple's one-time quarantine: open it once, click Done, then System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway (or run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/VortX.app). Full guide: Install on Mac.
iPhone, iPad, Apple TV (sideload the IPA). The IPAs are unsigned, because VortX is open-source and distributed outside the App Store with no Apple Developer ID yet, so you re-sign them yourself with Sideloadly, AltStore / SideStore, or Signulous. No jailbreak. Full guide: Installing on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.
Each asset lists a SHA-256 checksum (SHA256SUMS-ci.txt) so you can confirm your download matches what the public GitHub Actions workflow built from this code.
