VortX 0.3.11 (build 156, pre-release). Build 155 plus the newest beta work: you can now reorder your add-ons right in the app, Apple TV returns you to the episode you are actually on after auto-play, and there is a round of account and add-on security hardening. Everything from build 155 is here too: the Mac crash and source-list freeze fixes, Continue Watching and Play from start starting on the exact source you expect, true Dolby Vision on Apple TV, and the iPhone and iPad download fix. In testing; this becomes the 0.3.12 release once it is verified on-device. In-place update, nothing resets.
New in build 156
- Reorder your add-ons right in the app. Add-ons now has a Reorder add-ons screen: drag any add-on up or down to set the order. That order is the priority order, which add-on's catalogs and sources come first, and it is pushed to your account the moment you finish, so it converges with your other devices and the web dashboard. The list re-sorts as soon as you return. iPhone, iPad, and Mac (tvOS ordering stays on the dashboard, since the drag needs a touch or pointer). Also on this screen, a configurable add-on's action buttons now wrap instead of clipping the Remove button off the right edge on iPhone, and removing an add-on now syncs to your other devices right away instead of after a delay.
- Apple TV: Back after continuous play returns to the episode you are now on. When auto-play carried you from one episode into the next, or into the next season, and you pressed Back or Menu, the Details page still showed the season and episode you first pressed play on. It now jumps to the episode you actually ended up on and highlights it, so picking up where you are is one press away.
- A back-to-top button on Home and Discover. Once you scroll past the hero, a small button appears in the bottom corner; press it to jump straight back to the top. iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
- Security hardening for your account and add-ons. Sign-in and recovery now reject a weakened password-hardening setting from a spoofed server before it can touch your key. Add-on status checks no longer ping private or home-network addresses (your own on-device local add-on still works). And your encrypted account backup gains read support for a new version-bound format that stops a tampered backup server from quietly serving you an old copy; this ships read-only for now across the apps and the website so nothing breaks while every device updates, and is switched on in a later step. No change to how anything looks or feels.
Also in build 156 (from build 155)
- On Mac, opening a title while its sources are still loading no longer crashes the app, and the Mac app no longer freezes or force-quits while a title's source list loads. The whole source list is assembled and ranked off the main thread and published once per real change. Device-verified on macOS 26.5 across titles with thousands of sources.
- Play from start replays the source you were watching, never a different one, and Continue Watching resumes instantly when you come back soon (a still-valid link within about twenty minutes is reused at once).
- Downloads on iPhone and iPad no longer fail with a false "not enough storage" or a cannot-create-file error, so large downloads finish even overnight with the screen locked.
- Dolby Vision now switches your Apple TV into its Dolby Vision mode, not just HDR10 (Match Dynamic Range must be on in tvOS Settings, Video and Audio, Match Content).
- Removing an add-on clears its sources right away too, and community (Singularity) sources render inline, sortable with your other sources.
Everything from build 153 is still here too (the Add-ons screen memory fix, the Apple TV add-on-list scroll and reliable remove, the Dolby Vision watchdog on Apple TV, forced subtitles by their real flag, out-of-date-sync deletion tombstones, and the diagnostic-log clear-on-export). Please test
- Add-ons, 2 devices: reorder your add-ons on one device (Add-ons, Reorder add-ons, drag) and confirm the new order shows up on another device and on the web dashboard. Remove an add-on and confirm it disappears on the other device quickly.
- Apple TV, back to episode: start a series, let auto-play carry you into a later episode, then press Back or Menu. Details should land on the episode you ended up on, not the one you first started.
- Mac: open a popular movie with a huge source list, like Dune: Part Two, while its sources are still loading, and open and close a few titles in a row. It should never crash or force-quit and should stay responsive.
- iPhone or iPad: download a large file, including with the screen locked. It should finish, not fail with a storage or file error.
- Apple TV: play a true Dolby Vision file (including a Profile 7 Blu-ray remux) with Match Dynamic Range on, and confirm the TV shows Dolby Vision, not HDR10.
- Sign in still works normally (the security change touches the sign-in path).
Separately, the web app at web.vortx.tv had no sound on mobile after a video started; that is fixed and already live there. It is not part of these installers.
Install
Mac (.dmg, easiest, never expires). Download VortX-macOS-v0.3.11-b156-ci.dmg, drag VortX into Applications, then clear Apple's one-time quarantine: open it once, click Done, then System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway (or run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/VortX.app). iPhone, iPad, Apple TV (sideload the IPA). The IPAs are unsigned, because VortX is open-source and distributed outside the App Store with no Apple Developer ID yet, so you re-sign them yourself with Sideloadly, AltStore / SideStore, or Signulous. Each asset lists a SHA-256 checksum (SHA256SUMS-ci.txt) so you can confirm your download matches what the public GitHub Actions workflow built from this code.
