Since 0.2.49: the no-sound-through-a-soundbar fix, a ranking fix for multi-language releases, a stricter profile guardrail, per-profile settings, and the external-player list. CI builds the IPAs and attaches them here when the workflow finishes:
- StremioX-tvOS-0.2.51.ipa, the full app with the embedded streaming server.
- StremioX-tvOS-lite-0.2.51.ipa, the lighter build that plays direct and debrid links only.
Fixes
- Multi-language streams rank correctly again. Ranking now prioritises your selected audio language, not English, and never demotes a release that carries more than one language. A stream tagged with several languages (for example "ENG / FR / DE", flag emojis, or a "MULTi" marker) was being read as foreign and sinking below a single-language lower resolution, so a good multi-language 4K could end up under a 1080p. Only a release that clearly advertises a single foreign language is now ranked below one in your language, so a 4K that is genuinely only in another language still loses to a 1080p in yours, but everything else keeps its resolution order.
- The external-player handoff lists every player again. It was showing only VLC, because the way tvOS reports which apps are installed is unreliable. The menu now always lists the full set (Infuse, VLC, Sen Player, OutPlayer, nPlayer, MX Player) so you can hand off to whichever you actually have; detected players sort to the top.
- The profile guardrail actually holds now. Only the profile in use can be edited. The previous version still let a profile without a PIN be changed from another profile; now editing any other profile asks you to switch to it first, with no exceptions.
New
- Audio output control, for soundbars and receivers that play no sound. Some soundbars and receivers connected over HDMI get no audio from playback while the same Apple TV plays fine straight to the TV, and while other apps have sound. This is an audio format mismatch over the HDMI link, not a volume or routing problem, and it cannot be detected reliably from the hardware. Settings, Playback now has Audio output: Auto, Stereo, Surround. Auto suits most setups. Stereo forces a plain two-channel mix that every soundbar can play, which is the fix if you are getting no sound. Surround forces multichannel for a receiver that supports it but reports stereo. The setting belongs to the device, so it does not move between profiles.
- Each profile keeps its own settings, not just language. App text size and your stream source-ranking order now follow each profile, alongside the audio and subtitle language already there. Settings that describe the television itself (HDR tone mapping, performance mode, direct links only) stay shared across profiles on purpose.
If a new build does not seem to install, delete the app first and reinstall, then confirm the version in Settings.
