A torrent stability fix and automatic support for older Apple TVs.
Two builds are attached:
- StremioX-tvOS-0.2.44.ipa, the full app with the embedded streaming server.
- StremioX-tvOS-lite-0.2.44.ipa, the lighter build that plays direct and debrid links only.
Fixes
- Torrents no longer take the streaming server down. A live capture showed the app's memory climbing without bound while a torrent played, until the system killed it (the server "dying" with the torrent still running). A torrent streams from the local server, which already buffers the file, so the player's large read-ahead was double-buffering it in memory. The read-ahead is now sized to the source: small for local torrent playback, full for debrid and direct streams. Your direct and debrid experience is unchanged.
New
- Automatic performance mode for older Apple TVs. The app now detects a memory-constrained Apple TV (the Apple TV HD) and switches to a lighter path on its own, so the remote stays responsive during playback: the play head updates less often, the moving backdrop is dropped on browse, and buffers are kept tight. Every Apple TV 4K is unaffected and stays full. You can also set this by hand under Settings, Appearance, Performance (Auto, Full, or Reduced); Auto is the default.
Note for Lite users
The Lite build's identifier changed from the launch-day name to com.stremiox.tv.lite. Installing 0.2.44 Lite over the previous Lite build creates a fresh app rather than updating in place, so you sign in once more. This was done now, while installs are few, for permanent consistency. The Full build is unaffected.
If a new build does not seem to install, delete the app first and reinstall, then confirm the version in Settings.
