StremioX 0.2.14

The HDR release, plus the first community contributed feature.

New

  • HDR and Dolby Vision output on Apple TV 4K. Until now every stream reached the TV tone mapped down to SDR because the renderer never signalled HDR. The app now asks tvOS to switch the display into the content's mode (PQ or HLG over BT.2020) the moment an HDR file starts, mpv encodes the real transfer instead of tone mapping, and the display returns to normal when playback ends. Your TV's HDR or Dolby Vision badge lighting up is the confirmation. Requires Settings > Video and Audio > Match Content > Match Dynamic Range to be ON. Dolby Vision titles output through the HDR10 display path, which is how the profile 7 and 8 remuxes everyone actually streams are meant to render outside Apple's own player. Tracking in #1; reports from HDR TV owners welcome.
  • QR code sign-in, contributed by @OrigamiSpace in #3. Scan the code with your phone, log in on Stremio's own page, and the TV picks up the session. No more typing passwords with the remote; password sign-in stays available as a fallback. The polling now also survives flaky network moments instead of forcing a code refresh.

Fixed

  • Building from source on a fresh clone works now (#4). The tvOS enabled NodeMobile framework and the subtitle fallback fonts download from this repo's vendor release, and server.js falls back to Stremio's public CDN when no local Stremio app exists. No manual directory surgery needed.
  • A simulator only crash when HDR content played or the player closed. Real devices were never affected.

Everything from 0.2.13 (the 21 second playback crash fix) is included.

Install
