What's new

Snapshots

  • GET /cameras/<name>/snapshot.jpg on the control port (add ?stream=sub for the small one) returns a fresh JPEG made by the camera itself. A battery camera is woken for it and goes back to sleep after. Each camera's link is on the URLs page; see "Snapshots" in docs/control.md for scripting it with a login cookie (#28).

Battery camera clips with sound

  • A motion clip saved by Auto-save now plays its sound into the presence stream, so Frigate records it with audio. If your battery camera's clips come out silent, check that audio recording is on for the camera.

Two-lens cameras

  • reostream reads the number of lenses from the camera at login. When adding a TrackMix, Omvi 3i or other two-lens camera, zoom and zoom_sub are listed and ticked; for one already added, the Live tab offers "Add zoom_sub" and "Add zoom and zoom_sub". No more editing the config by hand.
  • A stream that isn't served now says how to turn it on, over RTSP and over HTTP, and a stream that is on but has no video yet says so.

Fixes

  • The first RTSP reader after a restart (usually Frigate's recorder) could get one timestamp that went backwards at the first keyframe; on ARM machines video and audio could also start a few milliseconds apart. Both fixed.
  • Opening a battery camera's page no longer wakes it, which could show up as a false motion event. Its Live tab shows the last picture and a play button, and the camera wakes only when you press play.
  • Switching streams on a camera page with pan and tilt left the old player running and filled the browser console with errors. Fixed.
  • One refused pan/tilt command no longer silently drops every command after it until the page is reloaded.
  • A stream that can't get a camera slot no longer logs the same failure on every retry; it logs once, then a reminder every 10 minutes.
  • Zoom lens log lines name the stream (cam/zoom), and "back" is only logged once video actually flows.

Update

docker pull ghcr.io/volttech21/reostream:latest, then recreate the container (your config is kept). On Unraid, if Check for Updates doesn't pick it up, use Force Update in the Docker tab's Advanced View.
