Venture 0.1.4
Fixed
- Batman: Arkham Shadow showed a black view with music on SteamVR when no room setup had been done (seen on a WMR headset). Venture now gives games a level floor and view, as a Quest does.
- Batman: Arkham Shadow closed at start on the Oculus runtime with an AMD GPU.
- The Simpsons: Hit & Run VR and Pinball FX crashed at start on AMD GPUs.
- The Climb crashed after loading, and The Climb 2 was treated as running on a Quest 1.
- Epic Roller Coasters closed with "Failed to create swapchain" on SteamVR with AMD GPUs.
- Ninja Legends stopped at launch.
- Ghost Giant wouldn't launch.
- World Of Mechs showed one frame, then went black.
- Path of the Warrior closed right after starting.
- Games built with Unity, Unreal and the Oculus SDK could stop when they reached one of 152 Android functions Venture didn't have yet. All of them now exist.
- Linux: Upload debug report failed with a certificate error, because dpaste.com's certificate now chains to a new Let's Encrypt root. It works again with your system's normal certificates.
- Linux (Bazzite and other rpm-ostree systems): debug reports now hide your home folder path completely (it showed up as
/var~).
Diagnostics
- If a debug report can't be uploaded, Venture now tells you where the report file was saved, so you can attach it to your issue.
- If a game is missing an expansion file (.obb), Venture names it.
- If a game quits because it needs a Meta sign-in or a real headset's device check, Venture says so instead of closing silently.
- If your GPU's Vulkan driver is broken or incomplete, the debug report says to reinstall it.
- If a game hangs, its log now names the system call it is waiting in.
Known issues
- 32-bit games built for OpenXR (recent Unity versions) still don't start: Venture translates OpenXR and Vulkan only for 64-bit games. Older 32-bit games that use the Oculus Mobile SDK are not affected.
If a game crashes or freezes on this version, please send a new debug report: after a crash, use Report issue on the game's page; after a freeze, use Settings > Upload debug report.
Everything from 0.1.3.1 is included.
