SweptPC v1.0.2
Safer cleaning
- Asks before deleting. Clean Selected now shows a confirmation listing the categories you picked and how much space the last scan found. Nothing is deleted unless you choose Permanently Delete; Cancel (the default) and Esc leave everything alone.
- Stays inside its cleanup folders. SweptPC no longer follows junctions, symbolic links or similar redirects out of a cleanup folder. If one points somewhere else, it is skipped and counted as "safety-blocked" in the summary, and the files it points to are left untouched.
- Protects your personal folders. Your user folder, Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures and Videos, plus Windows, Program Files and ProgramData themselves, are always skipped, even if something redirects there.
- Honest results. The summary after cleaning says how much was freed, how many items were removed, and how many were safety-blocked or locked by Windows.
Recycle Bin is now opt-in
- Recycle Bin starts unticked. Tick it yourself if you want it emptied. Every other category is ticked as before.
Smaller fixes
- "Space found" now only counts files SweptPC can actually delete. Files behind junctions are no longer included, and Memory Dump Files now counts
memory.dmp. - The update notice now opens this GitHub releases page.
- The footer reads "Free & Portable" instead of
Free & Portable. - README.txt is back in the download, beside SweptPC.exe.
