Version 1.7.0 is(technically) the finished version of 1.6.3 beta! But 1.6.3 was less of a beta and more of a full release since nothing was broken from 1.6.2, actually. Still, here's a 1.7.0 anyway.
Patch notes:
- Geothermal starts exploded by default in SA-X mode, allowing free access to Power Bombs
- Changed all organic enemies as SA-X into X parasites for Fusion Team parity
- Boss death pings have been reworked to appear on Core X death for all organic bosses, including Serris
- SA-X players that engage in combat will have their locations temporarily revealed, alerting both enemies and allies
- The Fusion Counter will flash upon player decrease
- Major item names are revealed to the player that grabs it. This fixes issues like not knowing what item you received from Arachnus
- Various small tweaks have also been made
[Changes exclusive to 1.7.0]
- SA-X Mode map has been changed to be fully revealed in gray map tiles for Fusion Team. Areas explored by other Fusion Players will be shown in their normal colors to you, so you know where people have been. The map for SA-X players still appears fully colored to still show item locations and killed Metroids
- Bosses, Metroids, and Activation triggers for Tower and Distribution are inactive for Spectators, preventing some annoying music shenanigans, and also some cheating
- There is now a Global Ping Indicator that is displayed on the pause screen, during transitions, etc. With a neat little wireless connection icon that might look familiar...
- Spectators no longer appear on the SA-X map when Juggernaut is active
- The SA-X Power level is now displayed with a bar instead of a number. When the bar fills, a box of the appropriate color below it lights up, and the bar changes color. One box = 1x damage, two is 2x damage, etc. The bar appears fully red when Juggernaut is active
- The Scanner for opposing players has an extra mode for lowest distance, since previously it was hard to tell when it was safe to save when somebody was nearby
- The Mission Results screen is changed for SA-X mode to display remaining Metroids alive and which team won
Linux and MacOS builds are untested. They may or may not work. There is currently no Android build, since porting to Android is unsupported. This might change when 1.6 of Community Updates is finished. There is also only a Windows version of the server application. This may change eventually.
