The big one this release: Leaf can now play on your TV over HDMI. Plus a round of Nintendo DS fixes and a nicer System Update screen.
HDMI output
Drive an external display over HDMI, with a picture that actually fits:
- A new HDMI Output setting under Display & Sound, with Off, 4:3, and Stretch modes, so you get a correctly proportioned image on a TV instead of a stretched one.
- Plug in a cable and it switches to the TV automatically, then reverts to the handheld screen when you unplug.
- Audio follows the picture to the TV.
- On a capable TV it can run 1080p120 for black frame insertion, and reverts on its own if the mode does not stick.
Nintendo DS (DraStic)
A batch of fixes for the standalone DraStic emulator:
- The second-screen overlay now renders correctly, corner mapping included, so the two screens line up the way they should.
- New position options for the small-window screen layouts, so you can place the second screen where you want it.
- Fast-forward runs at a steadier, more consistent speed.
- Corrected the button mapping so the controls behave as expected.
- Refreshed the in-emulator menu backgrounds.
System Update
- The update screen now shows a spinner while it checks for new releases, and it starts checking the moment you open the page. No more wondering whether it is searching or stuck.
