A small update focused on the display and save states.
Display
- Black Frame Insertion - a new option under Settings - Display & Sound, available
when the screen is set to 120Hz. It flashes a black frame between game frames to cut
LCD motion blur, for a sharper, more CRT-like picture in fast-scrolling games. It trades
some brightness for the clarity, so turn brightness up to suit. Works in RetroArch games
and is best with 60fps titles. - Correct refresh rate in games - RetroArch now runs at the screen's real refresh rate
when you set the panel to 90 or 120Hz. It previously always assumed 60Hz, which threw off
frame pacing and caused flicker (and was what stood in the way of Black Frame Insertion
working cleanly).
Saves
- Resume actually resumes - launching a game from Recents or the game switcher now
reliably loads your last save state, instead of sometimes starting over from the beginning. - Settings that stick - changes you make to RetroArch settings now persist no matter how
you launched the game. Previously, a change made in a game opened from Recents could be lost
on quit.
Polish
- The System Update screen's download and install animations are now smooth instead of
stuttering.
Fresh install or over-the-air update. For a fresh install see the
install guide; the device needs to have taken at least
one stock update off the factory image (1.3.0.32 recommended).
