What's new in v0.7.0-beta.2

This beta includes everything from v0.7.0-beta.1 below, plus a locked
five-game focus mode, on-device screenshots, corrected and calibrated PPSSPP
controls, and the now-published optional PortMaster 0.2.0 package.

Added in beta.2

Locked 5-Game Mode

• Added Start 5-Game Mode to the System actions. Pick and arrange up to five
  games, choose Theme or Black & White, and optionally protect exit with a PIN
  or button-combo lock.
• The focused screen shows only the chosen games, battery state, and relevant
  Bluetooth status. A locked device boots directly back into the focused view.
• Wi-Fi is turned off while the mode is active and its previous state is
  restored on exit, including recovery after the SD lock file has been removed.
• If the unlock method is forgotten, mounting the SD card on a computer and
  deleting .leaf-focus-lock safely releases the mode.

On-device screenshots

• Added an opt-in Screenshots setting, off by default.
• Press Menu + L1 to save a PNG from the normal launcher, 5-Game Mode, or a
  running RetroArch game to the top-level Screenshots/ folder.
• Captures are handled entirely on-device and work with Wi-Fi off. The hotkey is
  consumed so it does not leak through to the running game.

Corrected and calibrated PPSSPP controls

• Fixed the shipped Square/Triangle assignments and the analog-stick Up
  direction.
• Existing installations receive narrow one-time migrations only when the old
  shipped defaults are still present; user-created remaps are preserved.
• Both Vulkan and GLES PPSSPP launches now use Jawaka's calibrated virtual
  controller, so Joe's Calibrage applies consistently to PSP games.
• Release assembly now rejects a PPSSPP package that is missing these mappings,
  migrations, or calibrated-input routing.

PortMaster 0.2.0 is available through Pak Rat

• Compatible Leaf 0.7.0 devices can now receive the optional PortMaster 0.2.0
  package; older Leaf versions remain on the safe 0.1.2 package.
• PortMaster 0.2.0 adds logical Primary/Secondary inventory, a default install
  card, checksum-verified and restart-recoverable package moves, and improved
  per-launcher cover artwork.
• PortMaster remains a Pak Rat-owned optional app and is not bundled in this
  Leaf ZIP.

Build and release verification

• The launcher and bundled apps were rebuilt from the current main trees.
• The final candidate passed the Leaf identity/provenance gate, configured
  dual-source checks, PPSSPP Vulkan/control checks, standalone N64 and Flycast
  checks, packaged-core and license checks, and install/recovery archive checks.

Included from beta.1

Beta.1 included everything from Leaf v0.6.1, plus two major emulator upgrades,
safer dual-SD behavior, improved ROM uploads, and the Leaf-side foundation for
PortMaster 0.2.0.

PPSSPP now defaults to Vulkan

• Updated standalone PPSSPP to v1.20.4.
• Vulkan is now the normal MLP1 graphics path, using a Leaf-owned, pinned Mali
  G52 g29p1 runtime instead of depending on the optional PortMaster package.
• Added native Vulkan output and rotation for the MLP1's portrait-mounted panel.
• GLES remains available through a dedicated fallback launcher if a title or
  device needs it.
• Includes Balanced and Performance presets with durable user configuration.

Standalone Flycast is now the Dreamcast default

• Added a reproducible standalone Flycast v2.6 build for MLP1.
• Dreamcast games now use standalone Flycast by default; RetroArch Flycast
  remains available as a fallback.
• Integrated Leaf's calibrated virtual controller and detached silent physical
  SDL controller entries that could otherwise be selected incorrectly.
• The Menu button opens Flycast's native menu instead of immediately exiting,
  and that menu is correctly oriented on the MLP1 display.
• VMU data and user configuration persist across launches and updates.

Safer dual-SD libraries

• Games now use stable logical-card and source-relative identities instead of
  depending on whichever Linux mountpoint a card received during boot.
• Favorites, recents, playtime, per-game settings, artwork, and game IDs are
  preserved when a package moves between Primary and Secondary.
• Removing Secondary makes its games unavailable without deleting their library
  rows or user state; reinserting it restores the same entries.
• Primary and Secondary remain logically stable when /mnt/sdcard and
  /media/sdcard1 swap after a reboot.
• Runtime paths continue describing both configured card slots while consumers
  safely skip a configured card that is not actually mounted.

Central Scrutinizer improvements

• ROM uploads are validated against the platform catalog before large file data
  is transferred, preventing unsupported formats from appearing to succeed.
• Folder and ZIP bundles are checked as a whole, including entrypoints and
  companion files, instead of being judged independently in upload batches.
• The browser now shows each platform's supported formats and gives a clearer,
  platform-specific explanation when a selection is rejected.
• Configured but absent SD sources are skipped instead of traversing the stock
  firmware's empty mountpoint.
• Includes the Central Scrutinizer refresh and catalog fixes from Leaf v0.6.1.

PortMaster 0.2.0 and Pak Rat foundation

• Added the launcher's relocate-games-v1 reservation protocol and suspend
  inhibitor required for safe, restart-recoverable package moves.
• Pak Rat can retain immutable package history and select the newest package
  compatible with the installed Leaf release.
• Older Leaf devices remain on the released PortMaster 0.1.2 safe version until
  they install a compatible Leaf release.
• PortMaster remains an optional Pak Rat app and is not bundled in this Leaf
  image. Beta.1 contained the Leaf side required by PortMaster 0.2.0.

Release and install safety

• Compatibility version 0.7.0 is recorded separately from each beta build
  identity.
• Release assembly records exact component commits and checks required launcher
  capabilities, configured-source paths, managed-app ownership,
  graphics-runtime promotion, and archive metadata before packaging.

Tester focus

• Set up 5-Game Mode with each lock style, reboot while locked, unlock normally,
  and test SD-file recovery. Confirm Wi-Fi returns to its previous state.
• Enable screenshots and capture both the launcher/focus screen and a running
  RetroArch game with Menu + L1.
• Test PPSSPP with an existing beta.1 configuration as well as a clean
  configuration. Confirm Square/Triangle, analog Up, and calibrated stick input
  in both Vulkan and GLES.
• Launch several PSP games with Vulkan, confirm rotation and controls, then try
  the GLES fallback.
• Launch Dreamcast games, open and close Flycast's native menu, and confirm VMU
  saves persist.
• Test with both SD cards, then remove/reinsert Secondary and reboot until the
  physical mountpoints swap.
• Try supported and unsupported ROM uploads in Central Scrutinizer, including a
  folder or ZIP bundle.
• Install PortMaster 0.2.0 through Pak Rat and test its cross-card inventory and
  package moves; confirm it remains absent from a clean base Leaf install.
