Warning

This is a beta test build, not a public release. It is provided for testers
only and may be unstable, incomplete, or change without notice. Do not run it as
your everyday setup, and please do not redistribute it. For a stable, supported
version, install the latest release from the main Leaf repo:

Leaf v0.5.0-beta.1

First beta of the upcoming v0.5.0. This is a fresh install (not over-the-air):
download leaf-mlp1-sd-v0.5.0-beta.1.zip, unzip to the root of a FAT32 or ext4 SD
card, and follow https://leaf.game/guide/install/.

New since 0.4.0

  • Cover Flow home layout (opt-in). New Settings → Appearance → Layout → Home
    Layout
: keep the classic Tabs view, or switch to Coverflow, a box-art
carousel with console icons. Press X on a game for search and its Options
(rename, core, performance, scrape). Default stays Tabs.
  • Smarter ROM scanning. The scanner now recurses subfolders (folder-per-game
layouts work), and auto-generates .m3u for multi-disc games (groups the
(Disc 1), (Disc 2)… files by name). Hand-made .m3u files are still respected.
  • Friendly arcade names. Arcade / Neo Geo ROMs show real titles (mslug →
Metal Slug) instead of cryptic set names. Per-folder map.txt overrides.
  • Fixes from 0.4.0 feedback: save-state button no longer bleeds a press into the
game on resume; Bluetooth preference persists across reboot (and the stale BT status
icon is fixed); RetroArch quick-menu A/B confirm/cancel is no longer inverted; audio
    codec is muted on standby.

Please test and report

  • Coverflow layout and the per-game X menu (rename, scrape, core, performance).
  • ROMs in subfolders and multi-disc games (auto-.m3u).
  • Arcade titles for your sets.
  • The four fixes above.

Known issues

  • The mame core is still built with generic (non-A55) tuning. Minor; tracked.

Report anything with the exact tag (v0.5.0-beta.1) in the Leaf Discord or the
main repo's issues.
