TypeWhisper v1.2.2
TypeWhisper 1.2.2 lets you dictate into the World of Warcraft chat and makes pasting into
Flutter apps work. The
1.2.0 release notes
describe what is new in 1.2, including managed settings for organizations and the
machine-wide MSI.
Dictate into the World of Warcraft chat
- Turn on World of Warcraft under Settings › Advanced › Integrations and click
Install add-on. TypeWhisper finds the game through Battle.net and installs the
TypeWhisper add-on into every version on the PC: Retail, Classic and Forever. - While the game is in front, your dictation shortcut opens the chat, inserts the text
and sends it. A chat that is already open stays open with its text. Long text goes out
as several messages of up to 255 bytes, and a message never starts with a slash, so a
dictation cannot run a game command. - The add-on shows the dictation as a cast bar in the game's style: a waveform while you
speak, and a bar that fills while TypeWhisper transcribes. - Sending, the cast bar and an optional translation of your messages are set on the
add-on's page in the game: type/tw. Translation uses the default LLM of your
workflows. TypeWhisper reads these settings when you type/reloador log out. - The add-on is also available on its own from
TypeWhisper/typewhisper-wow.
Fixes
- Pasting into apps built with Flutter works. TypeWhisper now sends the keys of a paste,
of the Enter after it and of selected-text capture with the scan codes a real keyboard
sends, so Flutter no longer receives a plain "v" instead of Ctrl+V. (#732)
Updating
- 1.2.0 and 1.2.1 installations are offered 1.2.2 through the update notice. Download
and restart installs it and keeps the profile, plugins and settings. - Installations of TypeWhisper 1.1 and 1.0 update to 1.2.2 directly, as described in
the 1.2.0 release notes. - Machine-wide installations are updated by deploying the 1.2.2 MSI.
- The Microsoft Store version is updated separately.
Installation and requirements
- The per-user installer, the MSI and the portable ZIP are available for x64. Setup
installs the .NET 10 runtime when it is missing; the portable ZIP requires it
separately. The Group Policy templates are attached as
TypeWhisper-win-PolicyTemplates.zip. - TypeWhisper requires Windows 10 build 19041 or later.
- As with 1.2.0, the GitHub installers, including the MSI, are not code-signed, so
Windows SmartScreen may ask for confirmation.
