TypeWhisper v1.2.0-rc.3
TypeWhisper 1.2.0-rc.3 is the third release candidate for Windows 1.2. The
rc.1 release notes
describe what is new in 1.2, including managed settings for organizations and the
machine-wide MSI.
Changes since rc.2
- The Premium page is redesigned. Without Premium access it explains what a
commercial license adds on Windows, with examples of what learning from corrections
fixes, the entry price and a link to the plans. With access it lists the features
with their status and settings. TypeWhisper.exe --page <page>/<setting>opens a settings page scrolled to one
setting, for example--page advanced/ManagedPolicy. (#687)- Settings search now also reaches the settings on the Audio page. (#687)
Updating
- rc.2 offers rc.3 through the update notice. Download and restart installs it and
keeps the profile, plugins and settings. - Installations of TypeWhisper 1.1 on the release-candidate channel update to rc.3
directly. - Installations on the Stable channel stay on 1.1.0 until 1.2.0 is published.
Installation and requirements
- The per-user installer, the MSI and the portable ZIP are available for x64. Setup
installs the .NET 10 runtime when it is missing; the portable ZIP requires it
separately. The Group Policy templates are attached as
TypeWhisper-win-PolicyTemplates.zip. - TypeWhisper requires Windows 10 build 19041 or later.
- As with rc.2, the GitHub installers, including the MSI, are not code-signed, so
Windows SmartScreen may ask for confirmation. The Microsoft Store version is updated
separately.
RC validation notes
- Open Settings > Premium without a license and with one, in the light and dark theme.
- Run
TypeWhisper.exe --page advanced/ManagedPolicyand check that Advanced opens at
the managed settings card. - Update rc.2 to rc.3 through the update notice.
