First release of GigaAM for Windows: local Russian speech recognition with GigaAM v3 by Sber. The end-to-end model writes punctuation and capital letters itself and runs on the CPU. In the TypeWhisper benchmark it made the fewest errors on Russian of all engines (TypeWhisper/typewhisper-benchmark#5).
- Russian only. Audio in other languages is transcribed as Russian.
- The model, about 216 MB, downloads from Hugging Face on first use. Every file is checked against its pinned SHA-256 before it is used.
- Recordings longer than 20 seconds are transcribed in chunks cut at quiet points.
- Same model and plugin ids as the macOS GigaAM plugin, so both platforms produce the same text.
Works with every current TypeWhisper for Windows version (plugin host 1.1.6). From TypeWhisper 1.3, the app runs it in the separate transcription worker and shows the Sber symbol for it (#694).
