Reaper v3.7.4-beta — BQ16_PRO

pre-release41 minutes ago

v3.7.4 — Wallguard blocks within seconds of the clock after a reboot; a per-list Update; AdGuard DNS's Popup Hosts and allow-only sources; USB disks past 2 TB; the Wireless Log names AiMesh nodes

Everything in v3.7.3 is included. Both lines carry the same changes: RT-BE96U, RT-BE86U, RT-BE88U and GT-BE98 Pro on
3006.102.10; GT-BE98, GT-BE19000, BQ16 and BQ16 Pro on 3006.102.8.

  • Wallguard after a reboot. The boot-time download ran before the WAN and the clock were up and failed, and a
failed list waited for the 05:15 run: a router rebooting at 03:00 showed ads until then. Nothing is fetched now
until a default route exists and the clock is set; the lists kept on a USB volume are used as soon as the store
attaches; the first NTP sync fetches what is owed, and the self-monitor retries every 5 minutes, fetching only
the missing lists (10 minutes doubling to 6 hours for a list that keeps failing).
  • Per-list Update. Each subscribed row has an Update button that downloads that list alone, and a save that
adds a list downloads only that list; Update lists now and the daily run still fetch everything.
  • AdGuard DNS's Popup Hosts filter and allow-only sources load. ||name^$dnsrewrite=<sinkhole> rules
(ad-block.dns.adguard.com, 0.0.0.0, ::, NXDOMAIN, REFUSED) are blocks, |name^ is an exact entry, and a
source made only of @@ exception lines is taken (its Names column reads N allowed); both had stayed
"not downloaded yet, 0 names" since the v3.7.0 download check.
  • USB disks past 2 TB read as 0 B on the USB Disks tab and "not mounted" on the dashboard (a 32-bit size in
get_usb_info); the sizes are 64-bit now. The dashboard draws one USB tile for a one-port model (ZenWiFi BQ16),
and the USB Application table's number headers line up with their cells.
  • The Wireless Log names AiMesh nodes. A node's backhaul station row read "-": it has no lease and no name of its
own. The row now carries its node, is named as the Devices page names the node, and its address cell reads
    AiMesh Node.
  • Security review: the first check after a boot runs 5 minutes in, whatever the self-monitor's tick alignment
(it was 5 to 10 minutes).
  • Dreadwatch's "List updated" survives a reboot. The stamp lived in /tmp and the tile read "-" until the next
feed run; the boot rebuild restores it from the saved copy's time.
  • The command shell builtin is in busybox (CONFIG_ASH_CMDCMD): scripts that look for a tool with
command -v now work on the router (acme.sh does).

Two flashable images: + AI Advisor (default) and Standard (noMCP, all AI components compiled out entirely). Flash the *_nand_squashfs.pkgtb via Administration > Firmware Upgrade.

This is a beta release. Its filename carries _BETA and the router reports the same string on the dashboard and the About page, so you can always tell which channel a flashed image came from. Stable releases carry no marker.
