v3.2.1 — Wireless Mode returns with its Wi-Fi 6 coupling, the Professional page keeps only settings a user can change, Rule Status walker fixes

  • Wireless Mode is back on the WiFi Professional page, with the coupling it never had. Per
radio, stock's own option sets: 2.4 GHz Auto / N only / Legacy; 5 GHz Auto / AX only /
N-AC-AX mixed / Legacy; 6 GHz Auto / AX only. Every mode except Auto, N/AC/AX mixed and AX only
makes bringup write wl<unit>_11ax=0, which removes Wi-Fi 6 and, because Wi-Fi 7 rides on it,
Wi-Fi 7 too, and nothing in the firmware ever wrote it back: rc/init.c seeds the key only when
unset and stock hides both selects on Wi-Fi 7 platforms. Apply now writes wl<unit>_11ax=1
whenever the mode being applied allows Wi-Fi 6 and the stored value is not 1, so a radio once set
to N only recovers. OFDMA is greyed under a mode without Wi-Fi 6, AMPDU RTS and RTS Threshold
under Legacy, Disable 802.11b unless Auto; a mode that drops Wi-Fi 6 asks first, AX only asks with
stock's note. Behaviour change: this supersedes the v3.2.0 note that Wireless Mode is no
longer exposed; the nvram set recovery is no longer needed, and on its own it was incomplete.
  • Seven Professional rows removed. WMM, MU-MIMO, explicit and universal beamforming, modulation
scheme, AMPDU aggregation and Bluetooth coexistence are gone; stock hides all of them on Wi-Fi 7
platforms. Bringup consumes several (txbf into the beamforming caps, turbo_qam into
vht_features, mumimo into mu_features) and forces WMM on in Auto, the only mode most
radios run, so a free control could only mislead or degrade. MU-MIMO now follows the OFDMA choice
at apply, as stock derives it. Roaming assistant validates to stock's range, -90 to -40 dBm with
    0 meaning off.
  • The radio toggle is linked to the tabs that also drive it. A radio that is on cannot be
switched off while MLO is enabled; the MLO tab forces every radio on, and stock refuses the same
way. A radio the wireless scheduler owns wears a chip, since the schedule decides when it is
actually up. Applying a radio-off in router or AP mode confirms first, because the setting
reaches AiMesh nodes. AMPDU RTS set to Disable greys and parks that radio's RTS and Fragmentation
    thresholds.
  • Rule Status: a policy-routing rule behind ipset rules is witnessed again. The walker capped
the policy-routing rows at eight and counted the set-keyed notes against the cap, so a
source-address rule behind eight ipset rules never produced a row (field, v3.1.9). Cap raised to
    32. The out-of-scope note reaches the page whole in both columns; its buffers were 120 and 100
bytes against a 267-byte text. The VPN group reads "VPN", since it holds the policy-routing and
    Killswitch rows too. Walker v1.6.
  • Dictionaries. One token added and two retired in all 25 packs.

Two flashable images: + AI Advisor (default) and Standard (noMCP, all AI components compiled out entirely). Flash the *_nand_squashfs.pkgtb via Administration > Firmware Upgrade.

This is a beta release. Its filename carries _BETA and the router reports the same string on the dashboard and the About page, so you can always tell which channel a flashed image came from. Stable releases carry no marker.
