irongingot v1.6.3

Changelog - 2026-06-26

Inventory & Durability (major rework)

  • Server-side click processing - mode-0 clicks in the player inventory now compute
slot/cursor state from click parameters alone, ignoring the client's slot deltas.
Eliminates all stale-state races that caused durability loss, item duplication,
and item corruption from rapid clicking.

  • Item instance UIDs - every damageable item gets a unique uint64_t uid that
follows it through slots, cursor, drops, and pickups. Two identical tools (e.g.
two wooden pickaxes) with different durability are correctly distinguished,
preventing durability from leaking between them.

  • Cursor damage tracking - PlayerData.cursor_damage + cursor_uid fields,
serialized in world.json, so tool damage survives being carried through the
    inventory cursor between click events.

  • Damage transfer on swap/place - when a damaged tool moves from cursor into a
slot (or vice versa), damage and UID are transferred correctly whether the
target slot was empty, held a different item, or held an identical item.

  • Drop-and-pickup durability - ItemEntityData now carries damage and uid.
spawnItemEntity / givePlayerItem accept and preserve these values through
Q-drops, click-outside drops, death drops, and ground pickups.

  • Stale-cursor protection - click-outside-inventory drops no longer let a
stale packet-cursor value restore items that were already dropped (fixes
    item duplication).

Crafting

  • Hoe recipes - added for all material tiers (wood, stone, iron, gold,
diamond, netherite), matching existing shovel/sword pattern.

  • Lava bucket fuel - can be used as furnace fuel (value 100 smelts). Bucket
    is returned empty after consumption.

  • Stone brick stairs - crafting recipe removed; the block has no entry in
the generated registry so placement silently failed.

Block Placement

  • Slab upper placement - clicking a block's underside places a top slab.
State is stored in the special-block table and broadcast on chunk reload.
    (Type encoding corrected: 0=bottom, 1=top.)

  • Furnace facing direction - furnaces now face the player on placement
instead of always north. State is stored as furnace_encode_state(direction,0)
and broadcast correctly on chunk reload.

  • Furnace chunk loading - B_furnace added to the chunk-load filter so
furnace block-change entries reach the state-broadcasting loop.

World / Gameplay

  • Copper ore drops - drops 2–5 raw copper instead of a single ore block.

  • Tree growth clearance - placeSaplingStructure checks trunk-column
clearance before growing; won't overwrite blocks above the planting spot.

  • Item collision - item entities now check solid blocks on each axis before
moving, preventing them from passing through walls or getting stuck inside.

  • Death drops - dropPlayerInventoryOnDeath spawns item entities for all
inventory/craft/cursor slots before clearing them (respects keepInventory).

  • /gamerule keepInventory - now calls save_config("server.conf") so the
    change persists across restarts.

  • Day counter - world_day_time (uint64_t) introduced. world_time remains
    world_day_time % 24000 for daytime comparisons. sc_updateTime sends
world_day_time so the client day counter actually advances past day zero.
