v1.1.1 bug fixes

• Support for new LCD panels on latest batches
• Fix for headphone audio not working when plugged in
• Fix for intermittent ES-DE themes download issues
• Fix for storage showing as 32GB on new installs (now shows 64GB)

Existing GammaOS users can update to v.1.1.1 without losing data, please see the updated flashing instructions.

Overview

GammaOS Next v1.1.1 marks the first official release for the MANGMI Air X.
Based on Android 14 / LineageOS 21, this version includes extensive OS, graphics, UX, and performance optimizations compared to the stock firmware and earlier A13 GammaOS Next v1.0 builds.

Both Full (Google Apps included) and Lite (no Google services, maximum performance and battery efficiency) builds are available.

Key Features

Android 14 / LineageOS 21 Base

A modern, optimized firmware base with improvements across the system, scheduler, graphics stack, and UI.

Global Shader Support

GammaOS now includes a system-wide shader pipeline.

• Currently includes CRT-Simple and LCD3x, with more planned.
• Long-press the Shader Quick Settings tile for configuration options.
• Fully integrated with rotation and high-DPI scaling.

GammaRGB Enhancements

Joystick LED control has been significantly improved:

• Multiple color/effect modes
• Split RGB behavior
• Brightness scaling
• Long-press the RGB Quick Settings tile for advanced controls

Immersive Mode (Enabled by Default)

Provides a console-like UI:

• Hides taskbar and status bar
• Swipe from screen edges to reveal them
• Can be toggled via Quick Settings

GammaEQ (Audio Enhancer)

System-level equalization engine:

• Currently configured using system properties
• Full UI coming in a future release
• Integrates with the fast mixer when possible

Additional Improvements

• Fixed issue where task switcher wouldn’t respond to touch
• Smoother animations and reduced latency
• Reduced background CPU overhead
• Boot time optimizations
• More reliable D-pad/analog mappings
• Many internal stability and performance fixes

Device-Specific Improvements for MANGMI Air X

This release includes significant enhancements beyond the stock firmware:

• Updated GPU/graphics driver to 2025 version (stock uses 2024)
• Fixed Netflix DRM issues – streaming and Netflix-based games now function correctly
• Corrected display refresh rate – panel now runs at a stable 60 Hz
• Governor and thermal tuning for improved responsiveness
• Better battery efficiency, especially on Lite edition
• Reduced microstutter and lower input latency

Recommended: Use GammaOS Lite for best gaming performance and battery life.

Note: Flashing via Qualcomm EDL/QFIL will wipe all data. Back up your device first.

Known Issues

• GammaEQ UI not yet available (EQ works via properties)
• More shaders will be added in future updates
