Platforms and compatibility
This hotfix includes the Linux SDL window-startup fix (#489).
Video initialization now runs on the main thread before audio workers can claim
SDL event ownership, preventing the no-window/audio-only startup race.
The bundled launcher 1.5.1 includes Linux icons, destination storage checks
and improvements for small or scaled desktops.
All three packages include launcher 1.5.1. Use matching game builds and the
supported original US Xbox game content for multiplayer. The three platform
multiplayer compatibility identities were compared before publication.
Story Co-op remains a separate Windows Preview; native Mac/Linux Story transport
is unavailable. This Stable release retains the original Story menu.
Enhanced textures are an optional launcher download, omitted from these ZIPs.
Keep installed/custom packs, original game data, saves and settings when upgrading.
Back up saves before changing Stable/Preview channels; automatic save conversion
and compatibility between preview versions are not guaranteed.
Apple Silicon Mac
Download TimeSplitters-Future-Perfect-PC-v0.5.1-macos-arm64.zip and its checksum.
Extract the complete ZIP into a writable folder, open TimeSplitters Launcher.app
or Launch.command, and import your supported game content.
Requires macOS 27.0 or newer; Intel Macs are unsupported.
Vulkan/MoltenVK and portable Online dependencies are bundled. The app is ad-hoc
signed and not notarized; macOS may require Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
This Mac build does not include the optional FFmpeg movie decoder; startup XMV
movies are skipped. This is not full campaign or clean-machine Gatekeeper acceptance.
Linux x64 — experimental
Download TimeSplitters-Future-Perfect-PC-v0.5.1-linux-x64.zip and its checksum.
Extract the complete archive, keep its executable permissions, and run Launch.sh
or TimeSplitters.Launcher, then import your supported game content.
Requires Ubuntu 24.04-compatible x64 userspace (glibc 2.39+) and a working Vulkan
driver. The launcher, portable Online/Python/Tk runtime and audited WMV2-only movie
decoder, licenses and corresponding source archives are bundled.
Linux platform support remains experimental, including on this Stable game
channel. Package installation/repair, preservation and clean Ubuntu userspace were
checked. WSL/software Vulkan/Dozen testing does not establish native AMD/Intel/NVIDIA,
Wayland, physical-controller, speaker/audio-output or Steam Deck acceptance. Those hardware checks, full
campaign completion and real Internet crossplay remain unverified. Do not interpret
a successful build or package self-test as complete rendering/gameplay fidelity.
Download and play
Windows launcher (recommended)
- Download the Windows launcher and extract its ZIP.
- Open TimeSplitters Launcher.exe.
- Set Update channel to Stable, then select Install release.
- Import your US Xbox game using Locate ISO or Use extracted files. You only need to do this once.
- Select Play Game.
The launcher downloads and verifies updates, keeping your game data, settings and saves.
Portable ZIP (alternative)
- Download TimeSplitters-Future-Perfect-PC-v0.5.1-windows-x64.zip from Assets below.
- Extract the entire ZIP to a writable folder.
- Run Play.cmd and select your US Xbox ISO or extracted game folder when prompted.
When upgrading, preserve Data, Settings, Saves and Textures.
Use the companion .zip.sha256 file to verify the download.
Requirements: Windows 10/11 x64 and original US Xbox game files.
Python, Git, Visual Studio and an emulator are not required. After importing the game, the ISO is no longer needed.
