Fixes Play Game failing after a successful ISO import on Windows systems running PowerShell in Constrained Language Mode.
What's changed
- Fresh installations now start the game directly through the launcher, just like installations with saved graphics settings. Play Game no longer uses the PowerShell startup script.
- Game-data verification, portable settings and saves, log capture, startup-video preferences, and game window monitoring remain in place.
- No Windows security-policy changes or ISO reimport are required for this fix.
Updating
Existing launchers discover v1.2.13 at startup. This is a Windows launcher-only update; it does not replace the game runtime or your imported game data. Close the game before updating.
Manual installation
Download TimeSplitters-Launcher-v1.2.13-windows-x64.zip and extract the complete ZIP into your existing installation folder, retaining its Bin and Support subfolders. Open TimeSplitters Launcher.exe. Your Data, Settings and Saves folders remain in place.
Validation and limits
All 190 isolated launcher checks passed. Fresh and configured launches were checked with synthetic executables, including paths with spaces, successful/failed exits, stdout/stderr capture and unchanged settings. All 29 settings checks also passed with the compiled test host started from a constrained PowerShell session. Portable startup/packaging checks passed (28 tests and two subtests). These tests reproduce the reported language restriction, not every enterprise AppLocker/WDAC policy. Native Mac is unaffected by this Windows-only launch change.
