Mesa Upstream

Version 26.3.0
Commit 879365e
Vulkan version Vulkan 1.4.354
Commit date 2026-07-18
Commit title vulkan/runtime: fixup vk_shader leak on RT group recompile
Build date 20260718

A6xx / A7xx — What's In This Driver

Pure Mesa main — built directly from the latest upstream commit with no source patches.

Three inline NDK r29 compatibility fixes are applied at build time:

  • buffer_handle_t typedef fix (native_handle.h)
  • hnd->handle void-cast fix (u_gralloc_fallback.c)
  • native_buffer->handle cast fix (vk_android.c)

Targets Snapdragon 600–800 series, 7 Gen and 8 Gen 1–3 (Adreno 600–700 series).

A8xx — What's In This Driver

The full whitebelyash turnip/gen8 A8xx stack applied on top of bleeding-edge Mesa main — the same patch set behind whitebelyash tu_v29 and StevenMXZ v33. Supports A840 / A830 / A829 / A825 / A810.

Applied via a8xx_gen8.patch (13 commits from whitebelyash/mesa-unified turnip/gen8):

  • A825 enablement + updated A8xx family configs (adds gmem_size, disable_gmem).
  • A825/A829 offset fixes and A810 custom-resolve / off-MSAA / FDM (A810/825/829/830) tuning.
  • A810 UBO-promotion coalescing (ir3) + u_gralloc always-UBWC buffer detection + drm-shim entries.
  • HACKs whitebelyash ships: VK1.3 exposed without multiview, enforce TU_DEBUG=nocb (disable concurrent binning), selected A810 feature disables.
  • SteamDeck spoof — some games refuse to start on Qualcomm; use TU_DEBUG=deck_emu to spoof as a Steam Deck.

Applied via a8xx_shared_mem.py: raises A8xx compute shared-mem size 32→64 KiB (whitebelyash increase shared mem size, converted to a robust global replace).

Already in mesa/main (no patching needed): A840 (0xffff44050A31), A613, A830 properties, A8xx magic regs, UBWC 5/6 KGSL, reg_size fixes — all upstreamed and included automatically from bleeding-edge Mesa.

A830: GMEM can produce a glitchy picture (write page faults) — if so, force sysmem with TU_DEBUG=sysmem.

⚠️ Compile-verified only — not yet device-proven; A8xx owners please test and report.

A710 / A720 / A722 Test Build — What's In This Driver

⚠️ UNVERIFIED — Needs testing on real hardware before this is merged into the standard build.

Pure Mesa main plus hardware-specific GPU entries for Adreno 710, 720, and 722 injected via a710-720.py (based on Vauzi-17/710):

  • A710 (chip_id=0x07010000) — per-GPU a710_magic_regs + a710_raw_magic_regs captured from real A710 blob traces (Vauzi-17/710); num_ccu=3, tile_align_w=64, tile_align_h=32
  • A720 (chip_id=0x43020000) — per-GPU a720_magic_regs + a720_raw_magic_regs captured from real A720 blob traces (Vauzi-17/710); num_ccu=3, tile_align_w=64, tile_align_h=32
  • A722 (chip_id=0x43020100) — per-GPU a722_magic_regs + a722_raw_magic_regs (distinct PC_MODE_CNTL=0x3f, UCHE_CACHE_WAYS=0x0) from real A722 blob traces (Vauzi-17/710); num_ccu=3, tile_align_w=64, tile_align_h=32

All three entries inherit their GPU properties from Mesa's a7xx_base and a7xx_gen1 baseline rather than overriding with hand-tuned values. None of these chip IDs exist in Mesa main or the Linux kernel device catalog. The standard ZIP is completely unaffected — this variant only activates on devices reporting exactly those chip IDs.

Recommended: use sysmem mode. Force sysmem via TU_DEBUG=sysmem in your emulator/app environment until GMEM is confirmed stable on real hardware.

Winlator users: set WRAPPER_BLIT=1 in your environment variables.

A8xx Provenance

Built from whitebelyash/mesa-unified turnip/gen8 — the canonical A8xx Turnip patch stack, the same source behind whitebelyash tu_v29 and StevenMXZ v33. Curated to his A8xx-relevant commits: cosmetic driver-string/versioning commits and anything already merged into Mesa main (A840, A613, magic regs, reg_size, GMEM cache offset) are dropped, so this rides bleeding-edge Mesa while carrying his A8xx tuning. Credit: whitebelyash for the A8xx work.
