This release gathers everything since v0.8.0 and brings 86 patches for Facebook 582.0.0.50.54, up from 85. The new one is Share sheet items, which takes the items you pick off Facebook's share sheet. Morphe Manager's default selection now holds every patch but three, and after an update the settings page tells you which switches start off now. New switches hide the share sheet's Send to group buttons, share a post's own link instead of a /share/ link, play reels once and hide the Follow link on posts. Morphe Manager 1.34.0 or newer is required.
New in this release
-
Comment sheet optionshas a fourth switch under Comments,Hide related groups. It takes the Related groups list and its Join buttons out from under a group post's comments, and the comments themselves stay. It starts off, and the diagnostic report counts each list it keeps out. -
Share sheet itemsis a new patch. It lets you hide items from Facebook's share sheet, such as WhatsApp, Meta AI or Copy link. Nothing is hidden until you tapShare sheet items to hideunder Links and tick what you don't want. The list starts with the items Facebook has offered on your phone and then common ones. The rest keep Facebook's order, and pausing Hushfacebook brings everything back. It shares one hook with the Threads switch inHide Meta upsells, so both can be in the same build. The idea comes from icysymmetra's TikTok patches. -
After an update, the settings page names the switches that now start off, so you can turn back on the ones you used.
-
Export settings now carries your Share sheet items picks, including item types this version doesn't name, and the import preview says how many it will hide.
-
The settings home page ends with Support Hushfacebook, which opens the Ko-fi page in your browser.
-
Privacy now ends with a map of where ads and tracking are blocked. Each line takes you to its switch, says it was set when you patched, or names the patch to add, and the blocks that cost something say what they cost.
-
Share sheet itemshas a new switch under Links,Hide group buttons in the share sheet, off to start. It takes away Send to group when you pick two or more people, and the share sheet's own ways to start a new group, so nothing you share turns into a group chat by accident. Send separately stays (#104). -
Sanitize sharing linkshas a new switch under Links,Share the post's own link, off to start. Copy link and the share sheet's other link shares give the post's own facebook.com address instead of a facebook.com/share/ link made for that one share (#98). -
Clean up Reelshas a new switch under Reels,Play reels once, off to start. A reel stops on its last frame instead of starting over. Tap it to watch again, or swipe on. Feed videos and stories don't change. -
Hide post promptshas a new switch under Feed,Hide the Follow link on posts, off to start. It takes the "Follow" link off the name on posts from Pages and people you don't follow, so it can't be tapped by accident. Tapping the name still opens the profile (#107).
Fixes
-
Open on a chosen tabset to Feeds opens the Feeds page over Home when your tab bar has no Feeds tab, on the filterFeeds opens onpicks. Back goes to Home. -
Open links in external browsersends out links written in capitals, like a Page post's HTTPS://SHOP.EXAMPLE. Android reads the start of a link letter for letter, so your browser didn't recognize it, and the link opened in Facebook's own browser with a "No external browser took the link" message. Links that an app on your phone claims, a video site's for example, now reach that app even when they're written in capitals. -
Offer to download copied linkssaves reels and videos from copied share links again, the facebook.com/share/r/ and /share/v/ kind that Facebook's Copy link gives you. Facebook answered Android's own way of asking with a page instead of the video's address, so every share link said "Couldn't find the video in that link" and opened in Facebook.
Other changes
-
Picking a comment order or a playback quality now turns its switch on, so the pick takes effect right away.
-
Morphe Manager's default selection now holds every patch but three, so you don't need Expert mode to get
Hide the Reels tab,Tap to play,Download any videoand the rest. The 32 patches that joined it start with their switches off, and a fresh patch looks like the Facebook you know until you turn things on in Hushfacebook settings.AMOLED black themeandMaterial You themestay out because their colors go in when you patch and there's no switch to take them back out.Disable Play Store updatesstays out because it raises the version number Android sees, so a later build without it can't install over yours, and it doesn't work on a root mount. Turn on Expert mode to pick those three. -
If you'd picked one of those patches before and never changed its switch, the switch starts off after you update. Hushfacebook keeps no record of the build you came from, so it can't tell you meant it on. Look these over in Hushfacebook settings and turn back on the ones you want: Hide Reels in the feed, Keep feed position on return, Hide the Stories tray, Hide Stories between posts, Stop Story auto-advance, View stories anonymously, Hide prompts and promos under reels, Hide the Follow button on reels, Hide comment and reaction previews, Don't send reel watch history, Turn off double tap to like, Hold a reel for 2x, Default comment order, Tag suggestions only after @, Tap to play, Default playback quality, Picture-in-picture, Turn off HDR brightness, Use the system font, Use the phone's emoji, Turn off haptics, Turn off screen transitions, Download feed and Watch videos, Hide the Reels tab, Hold back analytics uploads, Allow screenshots, Block screenshot detection, Hide typing in chats, Hide typing in comments and Hide read receipts. A switch you'd already turned off, or a list you'd filled in, stays as you left it.
-
Expert mode's patch list comes in smaller groups. Interface held 42 patches, so it's split into Theme, Navigation, Playback, Reels, Stories, Comments and Chats, and no group has more than a dozen now.
-
Every patch description in Morphe Manager is rewritten in plain English for people patching for the first time. Each one says what changes and why you might want it, then ends the same way, with how its switch starts and where to find it, like "Starts off. Turn it on in Hushfacebook settings > Reels and Watch." Patches with no switch say they work as soon as you patch them in.
-
The text in Hushfacebook settings is rewritten in plain English. Each row now says what it does and why you'd turn it on, and the rows that need a restart say "Restart Facebook to see the change." The German, Spanish, Indonesian, Brazilian Portuguese and Turkish text is updated to match.
-
Messages from Hushfacebook are plainer too. Failed downloads, settings import and export, update checks, font files and link settings now say what went wrong and what to try next, without terms like "package name" or "kana". The translations are updated to match.
-
The Background color option on
AMOLED black themeexplains itself better. It asks for a six-digit color code like #0D1117, and the message shown for a color it can't use says the same. -
The
AMOLED black themeoption is now called Background color, and when it refuses a color, the message says what to type instead. -
Allow screenshotsalso clears a secure mark a page already had, from before you turned the switch on or from a path the patch doesn't reach, the next time Facebook changes anything about that page's window. Before, that page stayed black in screenshots until you opened it again. The idea comes from icysymmetra's TikTok patches. -
Restore screens on re-signed buildssays photos and posts need it too, in its description and in the warning settings show when a re-signed build doesn't have it. Leaving it out stops photos and posts from opening, not only profiles, so the old wording made it look safe to skip.
Removed
- Hushfacebook now targets Facebook 582.0.0.50.54 only, the newest stable release, in its arm64-v8a and 32-bit builds. If you're still on 581.0.0.45.58, 580.0.0.51.74 or 577.0.0.50.72, update Facebook to 582 before you patch. From here on each release moves to the newest stable Facebook and drops the one before.
Behind the scenes
-
The contributor guide maps patch sources, runtime extensions, and the patch workflow. The Facebook 581 audit traces ad delivery and tracking controls, records the signed-in stock screens, and measures foreground, background and screen-off activity. It includes network metadata, two settings screenshots and code search targets for browser history, camera-roll processing and the Facebook Plus icon screen in #109. It separates observed behavior from paths that still need a device check.
-
scripts/phone-smoke.ps1walks a patched Facebook on a phone through the feed, Watch, Reels, notifications and Marketplace, saves a full diagnostic report from Hushfacebook settings and pulls it. It fails when a hook family reports anything missing, ambiguous or thrown, when a family you name with-ExpectInvokednever ran, or when Facebook crashed during the walk. A crash the report kept from before the walk doesn't count.scripts/test-phone-smoke.ps1checks the report reading without a phone. -
Settings tests now match the current patch list, switch defaults and supported-link explanation. Story privacy tests clear shared diagnostic counters before each case so an earlier test can't change their results.
-
The desktop CLI runs, bundle merges and the resource, register and fingerprint checks now wait for a slot of the machine's build queue when
BUILD_QUEUE_SCRIPTnames one, and run straight away when it doesn't. Before, they started beside whatever builds were running and the queue never saw them. -
The patch tests that read the Facebook fixtures run as their own Gradle task,
:patches:fixtureTest, with each fixture's path and SHA-256 as its inputs. A change to the fixtures reruns only those tests, and a fixture swapped for another of the same size and date still counts as a change. Each fixture's dex is now read and parsed once per test run rather than once per lookup.:patches:teststill runs every test, and refuses a run where a fixture test skipped with the fixture folder set. -
The pre-push gate runs Gradle twice. Everything but the fixture tests goes first, so a failing quick test or lint stops the push in minutes, and the full run with the fixture tests comes second.
scripts/release/release.ps1 -Stage preflightruns the quick checks a release needs in about five minutes: the script contracts, that same quick patch run, the translation and release-check tests, both lints and the release facts. -
tools/release_text.pywrites a release's text.cutturns Unreleased into the dated section with a Facebook summary first, bumpmoves the version and the README badge,check-translationsholds every table to the same strings andL10nTranslations.javato the tables,github-noteswrites the notes with every bullet kept and checks that the app's update check reads the newest declared build from them, andindexwritespatches-bundle.json, the README's latest-release sentence and the bug form. Its tests run withpy -3.13 -I -m unittest discover -s tools -p "test_*.py". -
A release patches each Facebook fixture once instead of twice. The pre-push gate now patches the fixtures with the release bundle from
build/releasewhen the patch sources or the version change, and keeps each passing run with a stamp naming the bundle, APK, patch list and CLI.build-release-receipt.ps1 -AppliedDirreads a kept run whose stamp matches and runs every check on it, and patches any other fixture as before. -
scripts/release/release.ps1runs the whole release in five stages, each refusing to start until the one before it is done.sourcecuts the CHANGELOG, bumps the version, writes the patch list and checks the translations, and puts the tree back if a step fails.preflightadds the release text tests, the translation check and a draft of the GitHub notes to its quick checks.bundlebuilds from the pushed source commit and writes the receipt from the gate's kept runs plusSHA256SUMS.txt.publishtags, creates the release and downloads every asset back to compare it.indexwritespatches-bundle.json, the README and the bug form from the published release and the gate's test counts, then updates the repository description. The pre-push gate now runs the release text tests and the script contract tests when onlytools/changes, and the phone smoke report checks whenphone-smoke.ps1changes. -
The marketing script no longer writes
assets/readme-hero.png, which has been separate artwork since the quieter hero. The social preview it still builds says "Safe mode built in" in place of "Recovery built in", which people read as a promise about Messenger's chat backup PIN. -
Every patch finds its places in Facebook 582. That build moves more text into lookup lists, reads its config flags through new helpers or straight from the config, and folds some classes into their parents or into one shared object, so the patches and their fixture checks now accept each of those forms.
The changelog has every earlier release too.
How to update
- Update Morphe Manager to 1.34.0 or newer, then refresh the Hushfacebook source.
- Patch Facebook
582.0.0.50.54. On most phones that's build475417104, the arm64-v8a one. Phones with a 32-bit processor take build475417036, the armeabi-v7a one. - Install over your current patched Facebook with the manager's existing signing key. Keep that key so updates keep working.
The .mpp download is a patch bundle, not a Facebook APK. Installation instructions.
Look over a diagnostic report before you share it. The filter can still miss private text it doesn't recognize.
What was checked
Local checks passed: 2331 runtime tests and 842 patch tests with no failures, plus both Android lints and the release-script checks. All 86 patches applied without forcing to both Facebook 582.0.0.50.54 builds (arm64-v8a and 32-bit), and the only manifest changes are the four permission renames that let it install beside Meta's apps. I also patched 582 with every patch on an arm64 phone. Facebook opened signed in with no crash, and a walk through the feed, Watch, Reels, notifications and Marketplace ran 53 of the 55 hook families with none missing its target. The Hushfacebook row sat at the end of Settings and privacy and opened the settings, and reels showed the Download button.
