Patching on a phone takes about a minute now, down from three. Reels get a 10 second skip when you double tap either edge, and a tap shows their controls without pausing. Hold a feed video for 2x, pinch a story or a profile photo to zoom, and pick your own background color for dark or light mode. You can also put your own words or a picture at the top of Home, save a GIF from a comment, and hide profile notes or the Related posts list. Reel captions keep the bottoms of their letters again too.

New in this release

  • New patch, Longer music on photo stories, with its switch under Stories. Turn it on and a song you add to a photo for your Story plays for up to 30 seconds instead of 15 (issue #156, requested by @uk609x-gif). Videos keep Facebook's own lengths. It starts off. Checked on an emulator in the photo story editor, where the song's trim window covers 30 seconds with the switch on and 15 with it off. A posted story hasn't been tried yet.

  • New patch, Hide profile notes, with its switch under News feed. Turn it on and the note bubble on profile pictures goes away, including the Drop a thought prompt that sits on your own picture (issue #195, requested by @JFG1000). The picture itself still opens when you tap it. It starts off. Checked on an emulator on your own profile, where the bubble is gone with no gap, a tap on the picture still opens its menu, and turning the switch off brings the bubble back. A friend's note is only checked in tests so far.

  • New switch under Search, Hide "People you may know" in search. When you open search, the People you may know row Facebook puts there before you type doesn't show. Your recent searches stay, and For you keeps its own switch. It's part of Hide suggested and promoted posts and starts off (issue #80, found from @MF-Debug's diagnostic report). Checked in tests, not yet on a phone.

  • New switch under Comments, Tap anywhere on View more replies. On some accounts only a tap right on the words of a View more replies row opens the replies, both in a post's comments and in the comments shown under a post in the feed. Facebook picks per account which of two layouts that row gets, and the switch gives every account the one where the whole row takes the tap. That layout spaces the row a little differently (issue #219, requested by @pseudoparenchymatous). It starts off. Checked in tests, and in a post's comments on an emulator, where a tap at the far end of the row opened the replies. The row under feed posts is checked in tests only so far.

  • New switch under Stories, Pinch to zoom. Pinch a story, or a photo on someone's profile, and it grows under your fingers the way photos in the feed already do. Move your fingers to look around, and it goes back when you let go (issue #220, requested by @jonandeva). Photos in the feed keep Facebook's own pinch. It starts off. Profile and Page photos and stories were checked on a phone. A second switch under it, Stay zoomed, keeps the zoom when you let go (asked for by @lijovklm). Drag it with one finger or pinch again, then tap or press Back to put it back. A story stays paused the whole time. It starts off. On Page photos it was checked on Android 16, with Back, the back swipe and a tap each putting the photo back without leaving the Page. On a story it was checked on a phone too: the zoom stayed and the story stayed paused, a drag moved it around, and Back or a tap put it back without skipping to the next story.

  • A third switch under Pinch to zoom, Double tap to zoom. Double tap a photo on someone's profile and it zooms in 2x around where you tapped. Double tap again to put it back (asked for by @lijovklm on issue #220). A single tap still opens the photo, a moment later than before, and stories keep their taps the way Facebook has them. It starts off. Checked on a phone on a profile's cover photo, where a scroll that starts on the photo still scrolls, and on a profile picture, where a press and hold opens the same menu with the switch on or off.

  • New switch under Reels and Watch, Newest reels first. The Reels tab plays the newest posted of the reels Facebook has already loaded for you first, instead of its own pick. It can't fetch newer reels, so it's the newest of what Facebook picked for you (issue #134, requested by @AbdulrahmanAlamodi). It starts off. Checked in tests and on an emulator.

  • New row under Appearance with the AMOLED black theme, Background color. Type a color code like #0D1117 and dark mode's backgrounds switch to it after Facebook restarts, with no repatch (issue #214, requested by @M7amma). Cards and menus get a slightly lighter shade of it. Grays up to about #535353 work, and a color too light for Facebook's text is refused with a note saying why. Leave it blank for the color you patched with. Settings backups carry it too. The row isn't there when Material You is in the same build. Checked on an emulator: Home, Menu, Marketplace, a post and its comments, and Facebook's settings all take the color, and a blank row brings back the patched one. The Hushfacebook settings page follows it too, with its cards and dialogs a shade lighter. On a light gray like #535353 its text and switches get lighter as well, so they stay easy to read.

  • A second row next to it, Light background color, does the same for Facebook's light mode (issue #214). Type a light color code like #FFF8E7 and, after Facebook restarts, most of the feed takes it in place of white, and so do the Menu, your profile card at the top of it and Facebook's own settings. Gray buttons shift with it so they still stand out, and Facebook's text gets a little darker where it needs to so it stays easy to read. A color too dark for that is refused with a note naming the darkest gray it takes, #A6A6A6. Leave it blank for Facebook's own white. Settings backups carry it, and like the dark row it isn't there when Material You is in the same build. Checked on an emulator with #FFF8E7, where Home, the Menu and its profile card, a post's comments and Facebook's settings all took it, and dark mode looked the same as before.

  • New switch under Reels and Watch, Hide the slow connection message. When a video or GIF takes a while to load, the "This is taking a while. Try checking your network connection." message stops popping up, and the video keeps loading like before (issue #222, requested by @CiupaSs). It's part of Clean up Reels and starts off. Checked in tests, not yet on a phone.

  • Two new switches under Menu, Hide Help and support and Keep Settings and privacy expanded (issue #224, requested by @sleeepingfatcat). The first takes the Help and support section out of the Menu. The second opens Settings and privacy with its rows already showing, and a tap on its header won't fold them away. Both start off, and the second takes effect after Facebook restarts. Checked on an emulator, where Help and support was gone and Settings and privacy opened with its rows out and its arrow pointing up. With the switch off it folds up like before.

  • New switch under Reels and Watch, Play whole reels in the feed's Reels row. The reels in the Reels row on your Home feed keep playing instead of repeating their first second, so you can see what a reel is before you open it (issue #228, requested by @lijovklm). It's part of Clean up Reels and starts off. Checked on an emulator, where Facebook had told each tile to stop at one second and loop. With the switch on the tile played on for the whole recording.

  • A GIF in a comment can be saved now. Press and hold a GIF comment and the menu that comes up has Save GIF, which saves the moving GIF to your Pictures folder, not the still frame the comment list shows (issue #226, requested by @pseudoparenchymatous). Facebook only offers Save photo for photo comments, so a GIF got nothing before. It comes with Download any photo and goes away when that's off. Checked on an emulator with two GIPHY comments, each saved as a full animated GIF.

  • New patch, Double tap to skip, with its switch under Reels and Watch. Double tap the right edge of a reel to jump 10 seconds ahead, or the left edge to go back 10 (5 on one under 30 seconds). A double tap in the middle works like before (issue #225, requested by @lotslove). It's Facebook's own skip, which most accounts never get. It starts off. Checked on an emulator on a 1:36 video in the Reels tab, where each edge showed +10s or -10s and moved the video, and the like count didn't change. With the switch off the same double tap did nothing.

  • New patch, Tap shows the controls, with its switch under Reels and Watch. A tap on a playing reel brings up its controls while it keeps playing, so you can reach the skip and mute buttons without stopping it (issue #225, requested by @lotslove). They go away on their own after 3 seconds, or right away on a second tap, and the button in the middle still pauses. Facebook built this layout and ships it turned off. It starts off. Checked on an emulator in the Reels tab, where a tap showed the controls around a pause button while the time kept moving, they hid about 3 seconds later or on a second tap, and the middle button paused the reel. With the switch off a tap paused it like before.

  • New switch under News feed, Hide "Related posts" under posts. It takes away the Related posts list Facebook adds under some posts, the one whose titles are written by Meta AI. The post, its buttons and its comments stay (issue #231, requested by @MF-Debug). It's part of Hide suggested and promoted posts and starts off. On an emulator with Facebook 584 the switch was asked about that list as the feed scrolled and answered it, with no crash. The account there doesn't get the list itself, so it hasn't been seen leaving a screen yet.

  • New patch, Home header text, with its row under Appearance. Type a few words and they sit at the top of Home where the Facebook logo was, at the logo's height and in the colors Facebook gives its logo in light and dark mode (issue #230, requested by @schuani). Up to 30 characters, and a long line shrinks so it still fits beside the buttons. Leave it blank for Facebook's logo. Settings backups carry it. Checked on an emulator in dark mode over two fresh starts, where "Good morning" showed in white in the logo's place. The light mode colors are checked in tests. A second row, Home header picture, puts a picture of your own there instead, in its own colors. Pick one from your phone and a copy shrunk to fit is kept with Facebook's files, so the original can go. While it's chosen it takes the place of your words, and Remove the header picture brings back the words or the logo. Settings backups leave the picture out, since it can't travel in one. Checked on an emulator, where a picked picture showed at the top of Home with its shape kept, after the restart button and again after a fresh start, and the logo came back after Remove.

  • New switch under Reels and Watch, Hold a feed video for 2x. Press and hold a video playing in your feed or in Watch, the edge included, and it plays at double speed until you let go, the way a reel already can (issue #229, requested by @lijovklm). A video already at 2x or faster is left alone, and Keep the video speed doesn't hold on to the 2x once you let go. With Long press opens comments on, a hold on a feed video speeds it up instead. It comes with Hold a reel for 2x, works without that patch's switches and starts off. Checked on an emulator with Facebook 584, where holding the middle of a video in the Groups feed and then its left edge played it at 2x until the finger lifted, then back at normal speed, with nothing opening.

Fixes

  • Hide sponsored reels also keeps ads out of the row of reels in the Home feed, the one you scroll sideways (issue #216, reported by @KingKode123). That row takes its ad tiles from a second ad pool of Facebook's, and only the Reels tab's pool was held before. Now that pool answers that it has no ad, so the row moves on to the next regular reel. On an emulator with Facebook 584 the row's pool was asked for an ad and gave none, with no crash, but that account showed no ad tile in the row to begin with, so an ad hasn't been seen leaving it yet.

  • Reel captions don't lose the bottoms of their letters anymore (issue #96, issue #212). Facebook's Reels footer gives the caption a box a little taller than the space around it and cuts off what doesn't fit, so y, g and p and Bengali vowel signs got clipped on the last line, even in Facebook's own font. The space under the caption is empty, so the caption now draws into it. The first reel after Facebook starts gets it too. Checked on a phone over five fresh starts into Reels and six reels in a row, every caption whole, with the buttons beside it unchanged.

  • Menu tiles to hide offers the Finds tile now, so it can go the way the others do. Facebook gives that tile no link of its own and has its server pick where it goes, so the list never saw it. A tile like that now goes by Facebook's id for the app behind it (issue #224, requested by @AlexanderQueen). Checked on an emulator, where Finds showed up in the list and left the Menu once ticked.

  • Save on a story someone shared from Reels takes the reel now, not a picture of it. That kind of story is a still, the reel's first frame with a play button on it, and Facebook keeps the reel itself tucked inside the story as a sticker, so Download any story saved the still. It finds the reel there and saves its video at the best quality listed, named after the reel (issue #207, found from @jeiejs's diagnostic report). Checked in tests, not yet on a phone.

  • With View stories anonymously on, a story you watched partway opens where you left off after Facebook restarts, not back at the first card. Someone who posted a new story after you watched the rest opens at the new one too. Facebook starts at the first card its servers think you haven't seen, and they never hear about these views, so the phone keeps the cards you watched for 48 hours and Facebook's pick skips past them. Your views still aren't sent, so you stay off the viewer lists (issue #218). Checked in tests, not yet on a phone.

  • Turn off HDR brightness no longer makes the phone's own video service crash and restart on a Samsung phone with a Snapdragon chip. HDR reels set off a tone-mapping step in that chip's video decoder, and that step is what crashed, so the decoder isn't asked to tone-map anymore. HLG reels still go over at the usual brightness, and PQ videos on that decoder play as Facebook set them up. Checked in tests, and on a phone over 30 reels with two HLG ones and no crash.

  • With Debug logging on, Marketplace's report reads a whole page of search results again. Pages of 27 and 48 listings carried ads nested deeper than the report would follow, so it stopped early and called them incomplete. It follows more than twice as deep and reads four times as much of a page now, and when it does have to stop, it says whether the page was too deep or too big. Checked in tests, and on an emulator where both pages now read in full.

  • With Don't save search history on, a search no longer sits at the top of search's Recent list until Facebook restarts. It already stayed out of your saved history, but Facebook still kept it in Recent for the rest of that session. Checked in tests, not yet on a phone.

  • With Don't save search history on, a page or profile you open from a search doesn't show up in your search history as "You visited" anymore (issue #221, requested by @itsmenewbie03). Facebook builds that entry from the visit report a profile sends as it opens, not from the search itself, so that one report isn't sent while the switch is on. The page opens the same as before. Checked on an emulator, where a page opened from its search result left nothing in the history.

  • Hide the reaction preview on posts also takes away the "Name and 55 others" line beside the reaction faces, or the plain number Facebook puts there on some layouts. Only the faces went before. TalkBack still reads it. The number on the Like button stays until Hide counts on posts is on too, as its description says (issue #158). Checked in tests, not yet on a phone.

  • The Mark as seen button also shows when Facebook opens a story in one of its other story screens. Facebook 584 has three more besides the usual one, and the button only looked for that one. Checked in tests.

  • A copy of Facebook made with Clone app could close right after it opened when the regular Facebook was installed beside it. It was asking the regular app for a saved value instead of asking itself, and Android doesn't let one app into the other's storage like that, so it closed the copy. Now every one of those requests goes to the copy's own storage (issue #16). Checked on an emulator.

  • With Material You theme on in dark mode, the sheet that slides up when you tap the arrow beside your name in the Menu, the one for switching profiles, takes the theme's colors now. It stayed Facebook's own flat gray while the Menu behind it turned blue-gray. That sheet's gray comes with the screen from Facebook's server, paired with a light one, so no theme color ever reached it. A dark gray there now becomes the theme's gray at the same brightness, and the AMOLED theme keeps the sheet as it was (issue #37). Checked on an emulator, where the sheet went from #1F1F20 to the theme's #1E1F25.

  • With Picture-in-picture on, leaving Facebook while the Hushfacebook settings were open over a reel floated the settings page in the small window. The reel kept playing under the page, so Facebook still opened its window on the way out. While the settings show, leaving Facebook doesn't open the window anymore, and once you close them it works the same as before. Checked on a phone, where leaving with the settings open over a reel opened no small window, and after closing them the reel went into the window as before.

Other changes

  • Patching takes about a third of the time on a phone. Most patches used to read through all 215,000 of Facebook's classes to find the few they change, dozens of full passes in one patch. Now a single pass at the start notes what each class refers to, and a patch only reads the classes that mention what it's looking for. With the recommended patches on Facebook 584, a patch in Morphe Manager on a phone went from a little over 3 minutes on 0.17.0 to just under 1 minute, and on a desktop held to two cores from 54 seconds to 28. It still fits in the memory it needed before, and the patched app comes out the same as before, class for class (issue #216, reported by @AbdulrahmanAlamodi).

  • Use the system font patches faster. It used to read through Facebook's code four separate times to find the places it changes, and it built the full name of every call and field along the way. It now makes one pass and only builds a name when the class matches one it cares about. On Facebook 584 with the recommended patches, Use the system font went from about 5.9 seconds to 1.5, and the whole patch from 51 seconds to 45 on a desktop. It still changes the same places in Facebook (issue #216, reported by @AbdulrahmanAlamodi).

Behind the scenes

  • The device audit no longer refuses to start when the phone holds a settings backup from an older audit or the settings tool with no locale and theme saved beside it. It copies that folder off the phone first, takes the locale and theme the phone has now, and puts the backup's switches back at the end, the same as for a run that never finished. Twice on 2026-10-22 that backup had to be fixed by hand before a walk could run. Checked in tests, and the folder copy on a phone.

  • A focused test run that names fixture tests after :patches:fixtureTest runs them again. Those filters used to be dropped, and the run passed without running a single fixture test.

  • A push or a fixture check with a morphe-desktop CLI on the wrong patcher stops right away now. The 0.17.0 push ran its whole 17-minute gate with an old 1.18.1 CLI still set in the shell and only failed at the last step, because a bundle built on the 2.0 patcher won't load in a 1.x CLI. scripts/pre-push.ps1 and scripts/verify-all-patches.ps1 read which patcher the jar carries before anything heavy runs, and the message names the jar, both versions and, when it applies, the newer jar your user settings already point to.

The changelog has every earlier release too.

How to update

  1. Update Morphe Manager to 2.0.0 or newer, then refresh the Hushfacebook source.
  2. Patch Facebook 584.0.0.51.56. On most phones that's build 475817393, the arm64-v8a one.
  3. Install over your current patched Facebook with the manager's existing signing key. Keep that key so updates keep working.

The .mpp download is a patch bundle, not a Facebook APK. Installation instructions.

Look over a diagnostic report before you share it. The filter can still miss private text it doesn't recognize.

What was checked

Local checks passed: 3718 runtime tests and 1181 patch tests with no failures, plus both Android lints and the release-script checks. All 102 patches applied without forcing to Facebook 584.0.0.51.56, the 64-bit build, and a second build of the same commit matched this bundle entry for entry. I patched Facebook with this exact bundle and walked the whole app with every switch on, on an emulator signed in to a full account. 76 of 103 hook families ran there, the new Home header text, Double tap to skip, Hide profile notes and Pinch to zoom among them. All 23 settings pages opened in dark and in light, and Facebook didn't crash once. Android's verifier raised nothing on the patched build, the same as on Meta's own. The walk doesn't reach downloads, chats or the story viewer, so those are covered by the patch tests alone this time.
