PS5SX2 2.15 (build vk-285-177)
Everything from the test builds since 2.10 (172 to 177) in one version. It is the build testers have had since 17 October as test build 177.
New
- Game tiles. Any game can get its own tile on the PS5 home screen: on the shelf, press □ on a game and pick "Home screen tile". Press the tile and the game starts right away, no shelf. Off until you switch it on: make the empty file
/data/PCSX2/flags/gametiles, restart the console, then load ShadowMount+ and the helper. The tile shows up about 30 seconds after you close PS5SX2. - 192 more HD texture packs. The .7z packs of the community Google Drive folder can be installed now, so the shelf offers 228 Drive packs for 223 games, next to archive.org's.
- Less stutter from discs. The game no longer waits on the drive itself, the drive reads ahead, and the PS5's own drive runs at 3.2x (the empty file
nodisc32in/data/PCSX2/flags/turns that off). - Covers. Back covers (the right stick or R3 flips the case), spines and disc art, also from the LaunchBox Games Database. Covers keep their shape on the case, and the stick is less touchy.
- Search the shelf with R2 (○ shows everything again).
- Frame generation can switch the TV to 120 Hz again, so a 60 fps game can show 120. Still off by default: it needs a 120 Hz TV and "120 Hz Output" on.
- Folder settings are exact. Once you set a game, BIOS or Textures folder, only that folder is used. New: "Scan USB drives" and "Scan subfolders".
- A disc copy goes on where it stopped when you leave a game, and a PS2 disc not copied yet is the first entry on the shelf.
Changed and fixed
- L1 + R1 + touch pad from a disc tile or a game tile takes you back to the shelf (the home screen shows for a few seconds). From a shelf game it stays instant, as in 2.10.
- .elf files no longer show on the shelf, the web settings of a disc game open that game, and the PS2 BIOS setup no longer comes back at every start.
- Disc helper 171g: no log files of its own and quiet when the console shuts down (that stopped the kernel panics at shutdown for the tester who had them), plus the game tiles.

Load ShadowMount+ first, then one helper (the one that fits your ShadowMount+), after every console restart. To change helper, restart the console first.
In PS5SX2-vk-285-177.zip: the same layout as 2.10. PPSA99203/ goes to /data/homebrew/, PCSX2/ goes to /data/. Both helpers and the testers' notes (TEST-177.txt, SEND-BACK-LOGS.txt) are in it too.
Updating from 2.10 or older: the PS5SX2 Installer does it for you. By hand: close PS5SX2 and replace /data/homebrew/PPSA99203/eboot.bin and /data/homebrew/PPSA99203/sce_sys/param.json. Do not delete the PPSA99203 folder, and keep your /data/PCSX2 folder: your settings, memory cards and save states are in it.
