PS5SX2 2.03

Release 2.03 is built on top of 2.02 (vk-285-162).

Download

  • PS5SX2-vk-285-163.zip: the app (eboot and files). The installer installs it for you.
    SHA-256: cc1a2e86b73a7ad072e720de10a09c77c0353e4e43856cebfeee876e9c270733
  • ps5sx2-bot.elf: the helper (with the installer and the disc launcher). It replaces ps5sx2-aio.elf: run it from your payload manager instead, and it stays the only payload you need.
    SHA-256: 3420cdb5c826014b22b8ca8fa60a2026f0d9f91d3f5a5b818d4c98373eccb123

Changes

Faster start

The shelf now comes up in about 160 ms instead of about 510 ms: the text's glyphs are drawn on several threads at the start, and the CPU clock is read from the console instead of being measured for 50 ms. Measured on a console: about 0.4 s less between opening PS5SX2 and the first picture. The rest of the time before the picture is the console starting the app.

Elevation back to the etaHEN / OnionHEN / Helper request

PS5SX2 asks for root the way it did before 2.01 again (the file request that etaHEN, OnionHEN and the helper answer), and no longer sends the Lapy daemon request. Keep ps5sx2-bot.elf loaded: it answers the request in a few milliseconds. A console that has only the Lapy daemon runs 2.03 without root.

Helper renamed

ps5sx2-aio.elf is now ps5sx2-bot.elf.

Logs

boot.log shows [boot] t+N ms lines for each step of the start, including how long the console took to start the app before PS5SX2's first line, and [frontend] +N ms lines for the shelf's steps.
