PS5SX2 1.6

PS5SX2 1.6 (build vk-285-117): the Controls tab

New: Controls tab
It's in the shelf's settings (Square, then R2) and on the settings page. Like every other setting, it works per game or for all games:

  • Save & load buttons: pick the two buttons that save and the two that load, and how long to hold them (instant up to 3 seconds). L3+R3 + D-pad Up/Down is still the default. The touchpad + Cross combo is now off unless you pick it: Touchpad left + Cross to save, Touchpad right + Cross to load.
  • Button remapping: set what each button presses: face buttons, L1/R1, L2/R2, L3/R3, Options, the touchpad click and the D-pad. Each one can press any PS2 button, the Analog button, a "light press" or nothing.
  • Light press: while you hold it, buttons press at half strength. It's for games that read how hard you press: in Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 you can lower your gun without firing. You can also put a trigger on a face button, and it presses as hard as you pull.
  • Sticks: swap them, invert either one, or use the left stick as the D-pad.
  • Rumble and the keyboard & mouse options are on the Controls tab now too.

Fixes

  • Rumble now works on the DualSense.
  • The settings on the shelf are tidier: the game's title has its own line.

PS5SX2's own combos (back to the shelf, the settings page, the display filter) always use your controller's real buttons, so a remap can't lock you out.

Big thanks to Mihawk: PS5SX2 runs on a modified version of his Vulkan driver.

In PS5SX2-vk-285-117.zip: the same layout as 1.51. PPSA99203/ goes to /data/homebrew/ (eboot.bin, sce_sys/, sce_module/libc.prx), PCSX2/ goes to /data/. Only eboot.bin (and the source commit named in NOTICE.txt) changed since 1.51; every other file is byte-identical.

Updating from 1.51 or 1.50: the PS5SX2 Installer does it for you. By hand: close PS5SX2 and replace only /data/homebrew/PPSA99203/eboot.bin. Keep your /data/PCSX2 folder: your settings, memory cards and save states are in it.

Checks:

  • The same build ran on the dev PS5 Pro (firmware 11.40); its boot.log reads build=vk-285-117 and sources: driver 6a20943cc0, pcsx2 d96a703161.
