Fluorine Manager 0.4.0 brings the new Library workspace, improved modlist installation and launch handling, faster FUSE indexing.
Workspace and mod management
- Redesigned the main workspace around the Library, with game artwork, setup navigation, persistent layouts, and customizable Quick Access.
- Added a selected-mod details panel and clearer file conflict explanations, including which providers supply a file and which one wins.
- Moved Downloads into its own widget and improved progress rendering to reduce unnecessary UI updates.
- Reorganized settings, profiles, and executable management. Renaming profiles or programs preserves their settings, and tray/shortcut icon choices remain independent.
- Improved conflict column sizing, sorting, and explanations for collapsed groups.
- Made font overrides apply consistently across stylesheets.
- Blocked the incompatible Bethesda Plugin Manager workspace plugin. This restriction does not disable normal ESP/ESM game plugins.
Modlists, CLF3, and Collections
- Added CLF3 gallery integration, resumable installer queues, modlist update/date metadata, and settings for CLF3 arguments.
- Improved installer progress, setup navigation, retry handling, and interrupted-install recovery.
- Added a Nexus Collections browser and CLF3 collection planning/integration. Collections support remains a work in progress.(but it is very close to being finished)
Downloads and network handling
- Validate resumed HTTP responses and download URLs before appending data, and truncate partial downloads when an error retry starts from the beginning.
- Preserve download and paused-queue state through failures, completion callbacks, and callback reentry.
- Retire queued Nexus requests rejected during pause and keep update requests/prompts tied to the current update policy.
- Preserve and validate persistent network cookies, and restrict Nexus cache management to storage owned by Fluorine.
- Redact network secrets from diagnostics and identify the current interface log more reliably.
- Use HTTP/1.1 for GitHub update metadata requests.
Launching, saves, and desktop integration
- Track native process lifetimes and preserve SteamVR launch sessions and profile saves.
- Honor the selected game/Steam launch language and preserve Proton locales.
- Fix Unicode paths, quoted command-line arguments, executable environments, and per-wrapper launch options.
- Restore portable-instance and native desktop compatibility, honor XDG user directories, and use desktop portal file pickers in the portable bundle.
- Fix packaged NSS runtime dependencies and executable previews.
- Add Cyberpunk Steam Cloud integration and keep STALKER save listing available when native lzokay is unavailable.
Setup and diagnostics
- Add launch setup checks, clearer setup guidance, and shareable diagnostic reports.
- Continue remaining prefix setup steps after successful retries.
- Fix the .NET setup certificate crash and prevent Visual C++ installers from stealing focus.
- Add Steam/FUSE settings and offer administrator authentication when enabling FUSE sharing.
- Install pinned, Wine-compatible LOOT 0.29.1 with verified downloads and atomic replacement.
- Keep problem diagnosis tied to its owning UI lifecycle and add focused issue-report forms.
Faster FUSE preparation
- Build the mount inventory from file metadata instead of hashing every new or changed file in full.
- Read and cache BSA/BA2 directory inventories, invalidate changed archive identities, and reject archives replaced while their member lists are being read.
- Preserve reusable catalog state, make VFS preparation cancellable, and retain the base archive inventory during mounted refreshes.
- Keep the VFS mounted when Force Unlock cannot stop a running game.
Audio fixes and source diagnostics
- Bundle patched FAudio runtimes for 32-bit and 64-bit Wine/Proton, including Bethesda reverb/delay and send-filter fixes and a WMA/COM lifetime fix for Proton 10.
- Validate source formats, buffer divisors, and source-voice lifecycle state before entering the affected FAudio failure paths.
- Write persistent audio failure logs under the Fluorine data directory's
logs/audio/folder, normally~/.local/share/fluorine/logs/audio/. Logs include process/thread information and relevant format/source context. - The optional source index adds candidate loose-file/archive names to guard diagnostics. Candidate matches do not establish which archive won the game's load order.
