The noise-reduction slider now has a gentle end. It never did: the strength setting only moved the residual-noise floor, while the suppression itself ran at full force at every position. Turning it down made the reduction stop shallower, not do less — so setting 1 was already hard noise reduction. There is now a proper dry/wet blend, applied to the spectral gain rather than to the audio so nothing has to be delay-matched, and the floor sweeps in decibels instead of amplitude. Setting 1 is about 0.9 dB of cut; the top of the slider reaches over-subtraction.
Every NR setting sounds different from 4.1.6. Both ends moved — the bottom much gentler, the top more aggressive than it has ever been. Expect to re-find your preferred position.
Everything in 4.1.6 is included: the watermark-free world map, the audio watchdog that no longer disarms itself for the life of a page, canvas-drawn spot markers so panning the map cannot chop the audio, and the IF-filter deadband that stops a sweep thrashing the tuner.
