Both from Saber, who owns the SDRplay this feature exists for.
It now reads as GAIN REDUCTION, in the client's own units. It asked for a "max IF position" — chosen to match the RF ceiling beside it — but the listener's slider says IF GAIN REDUCTION in dB, so the owner's figure and the listener's figure described the same stage in units nobody could compare. What you type is now the number a listener sees their slider stop at.
And the slider covers the radio's real range. It was 0–39, the span of the old scale; the RSP's range is 20–59 dB, so the control couldn't express either end of the thing it was limiting.
A bigger number is a tighter limit here — more reduction is less gain — which is why it is labelled as a reduction rather than dressed up as a ceiling.
If you set an IF limit before today, set it again. The stored value is deliberately ignored rather than converted: silently reinterpreting a number is how a limit ends up doing the opposite of what was asked.
