VibeServer for macOS 11 B19 — prerelease

pre-release5 hours ago

V11 Beta 19 — a test build. It replaces Beta 18.

New

  • Light that moves with the phone (iPhone). On the silver and black faceplates, tilting the phone moves the light across the metal, like a real panel in your hand. It settles back when the phone is still, and only runs while the deck is on screen. Android gets it once it has been measured on a slow phone; until then Android uses the fixed light below.
  • LIGHT ANGLE (Control customisation › Faceplate): choose where the light comes from — left (as before), top-left, top, top-right or right. TOP evens out the light on the wide Mac deck. Shown wherever the light doesn't move with the device.
  • MOTION EFFECTS (Control customisation › Feel): turns decorative motion on or off. It follows your system's Reduce Motion setting until you choose.
  • VFD glass: the VFD displays now have the hair-thin filament wires across the glass that a real VFD has.
  • This build only: a small overlay showing the app's CPU, memory and frame times, for checking the tilt light. It goes away in the next build.

Fixed

  • Audio drops after changing mode or leaving DAB on FM. The server no longer narrows the channel or changes its bandwidth while the signal is still settling after a retune.
  • About 8 seconds of distorted audio after a band change. A frequency typed in another band now arrives with that band's mode in one tune, each band starts at the gain it last used, and a badly overloaded receiver drops its gain in one step.
  • The DAB+ mark now shows for every DAB station, including on a shared receiver someone else put into DAB, instead of the old green DAB label.
  • The app uses much less memory: the display's glow graphics are now freed and shared, and the waterfall draws in two layers instead of four.
