VibeServer leaves alpha. It is now considered safe to run on a public site.
Turn a Mac into a receiver anyone can use — from VibeSDR on a phone or watch, or from any browser.
Radios
- RTL-SDR
- SDRplay RSP — with LNA state, IF gain reduction and a live total-system-gain readout
- Airspy HF+ Discovery — its own sample-rate list, attenuator, preamp and AGC, described as the hardware actually is
Sharing
- A PIN to keep it private, or leave it open
- A per-listener time limit with a visible countdown and a cool-off
- The web client built in — point a browser at the Mac and you get the full VibeSDR interface: waterfall and spectrum, click-to-tune, audio and recording, the decoders, bookmarks and station search
- Roughly 25× lighter on the network than raw RTL-TCP: the Mac does the DSP and sends compressed audio with a ready-made waterfall
- Publish the receiver's location (opt-in, never assumed) so listeners see distances measured from the antenna rather than from wherever they happen to be
Signed and notarised
This build is signed with a Developer ID and notarised by Apple, so it opens normally — no "damaged and can't be opened", no right-click workaround.
Known, and being worked on
- The SDRplay stall watchdog fix is not yet verified on hardware
- "Aborts on first connect after a long idle" is mitigated rather than closed
Both are most likely to show up on a receiver left running unattended. Being outside the App Store, fixes ship the moment they are pushed.
