VibeServer Lite 11 B5 — prerelease (Android 5.0+, ARM)

latest release: vibeserver-mac-v11.0.0-b5
pre-release2 hours ago

VibeServer Lite 11 B5 (11.0.0~b5) — the fifth beta of V11. Installs over B4 as an update (same signing key) and keeps your settings. Supersedes 11 B4.

Fixed since B4

  • Narrowing the FM passband no longer overloads the server. Setting a wide-FM passband below about ±50 kHz (by hand, from a bookmark, or typed) made the server's filter roughly fifty times longer: on smaller devices the audio came in fast, stuttering bursts, tuning stopped responding, and one listener could do it to everyone on a shared server. The cost now stays flat at every width, and wide FM has a sensible floor of ±20 kHz.
  • The web player recovers on its own after a burst of late audio, instead of needing a page refresh.

Supported radios

  • RTL-SDR dongles (including the RTL-SDR Blog V3/V4)
  • Airspy HF+ (Discovery / Dual Port)
  • Airspy R2 / Mini
  • HackRF One (experimental)
  • SDRplay RSPs are not supported on Android — SDRplay's API does not exist for it (they work on the Linux VibeServer).

Requirements

  • Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or newer, 32-bit or 64-bit ARM (armeabi-v7a), a supported SDR and a USB OTG adapter/cable. Designed for about 1 GB of RAM.

Installing

  1. Download VibeServer-Lite-11.0.0-b5.apk below onto the device.
  2. Allow installs from your browser or file manager when Android asks ("Install unknown apps").
  3. Open it, plug in the SDR, and follow the setup.

Sideload only (not on Google Play). Please report how it runs in the VibeSDR Discord.
