VibeSDR 11.0.1 (Android 572)

VibeSDR for Android now lives at net.vibesdr.app only.

  • VibeSDR-11.0.1-572.apk — the app. All updates come here.
  • VibeSDR-legacy-11.0-RC5-531.apk — the final build of the old app (com.vibesdr.app), kept here so you can
still get your bookmarks out: its VibeSDR has a new home notice has an EXPORT MY BOOKMARKS button; in the new
app open the frequency card → BOOKMARKS → IMPORT. Then uninstall "VibeSDR (legacy)" — with both installed, Android
has to choose which app gets a plugged-in SDR.

VibeSDR 11.0.1

  • Squelch on a VibeServer works at every level. On a quiet channel (an Airspy HF+ on airband, an SDRplay on medium wave) auto squelch set its line correctly but never closed, and the bottom third of the squelch bar switched it off. It now closes and opens wherever the line is, and the needle reads the same level the squelch compares. (Needs VibeServer 11.0.0-5 or later; on an older server it behaves as before.)
  • VibeServer Portable: switching to your phone's hotspot from its own Wi-Fi now works, and the confirmation says the Portable's own Wi-Fi goes off while it looks.

VibeSDR 11.0

The final V11 release. Everything from the release candidates, plus, since RC42:

  • Maps on Android now run on the GPU, as they do on iPhone and Mac: the vector map, and every aircraft and ground station on the HFDL map — a receiver showing 650 aircraft flies smoothly even on a budget phone. The newest aircraft's glow is far lighter on every device.
  • OpenWebRX S-meter fixed: OpenWebRX servers no longer read S9 and above on plain noise. The owner's own S-meter calibration is used where they have set one; otherwise the noise sits at S3, as on a calibrated receiver.
  • OpenWebRX's own AUTO SQUELCH is in the squelch section: one press sets the squelch just above what you hear.
  • KiwiSDR recordings on Android play at the right speed.
  • RTTY: after a short fade the decoder no longer prints the next word in figures when the fade swallowed a shift ("4583 KHZ", not "4583((0""), while DWD's synop number groups still survive fades.
  • The tuning drums no longer go blank after saving a recording to another app; the name or callsign box no longer jumps about behind the keyboard.
