VibeSDR for Android now lives at net.vibesdr.app only.
- VibeSDR-11.0-RC12-538.apk — the app. All updates come here.
- VibeSDR-legacy-11.0-RC5-531.apk — the final build of the old app (
com.vibesdr.app), kept here so you can
still get your bookmarks out: its VibeSDR has a new home notice has an EXPORT MY BOOKMARKS button; in the new
app open the frequency card → BOOKMARKS → IMPORT. Then uninstall "VibeSDR (legacy)". It will not be updated again.
V11 Release Candidate 12
Since RC11 — every decoder checked against the best open references, and fixed
- SSTV: pictures come out straight — the sending station's clock error is measured and corrected (slant correction
never actually worked before) — and Robot / PD pictures have their true colours. ISS (PD-120/180) pictures now
draw as they arrive. - Time signals: WWV and WWVB show the right minute (they were a minute late) and read the year, summer time and
leap-second warning from the air; a single missed pulse no longer spoils an MSF, DCF77 or WWVB minute. - NAVTEX: its built-in error correction is used properly, so static bursts no longer throw text away; an
unrecoverable character prints as _. - FT8: no more spots with a wrong or missing callsign.
- The signal reading stays solid on DAB, and the decoder boxes lose the corner screws that sat on their buttons.
Since RC10
- RTTY decodes far more cleanly when the signal fades, and no longer runs off into a line of garbage after one misread
bit. A new AUTO setting, now the default, works out the shift, speed and polarity by itself and says what it chose. - Choose a colour for the app icon and the Now Playing art (Control Customisation → ICON & ART). On a Mac the art
changes; on iPhone and iPad the icon too. - MW steps follow the receiver's region: 9 kHz in Europe, Asia and Oceania, 10 kHz in the Americas.
- Connecting to a receiver never changes the mode it was left on (USB stayed USB, not switched to the band's LSB).
- RAW IQ is offered only on a radio whose owner allows it; the server-health and time cards line up after rotating.
- The menus no longer darken the screen behind them.
Since RC9
- WEFAX charts come out clean: white paper, black lines, readable text, with shading kept in grey (app and web client;
the work is done on your device, not the server). - Each chart's margin is found and moved to the edge, and Northwood's slant is corrected. ADJ in the decoder header
nudges SHIFT for this chart and SLANT for this station. - WEFAX no longer says "standing by" on a chart joined part-way through (needs a VibeServer on RC10).
Since RC8
- WEFAX and SSTV pictures fit the decoder window, with zoom (− / +) and pan in the header — app and web client.
- A received picture stays until the next one starts, then moves to PREV to view and save — even when the chart's stop
tone was not heard (the next chart used to be drawn over it). - WEFAX shows what it is hearing: standing by, start tone, phasing, receiving chart, stop tone — green while a
transmission arrives (needs a VibeServer on RC9).
Since RC7
- Decoders (RTTY, NAVTEX, WEFAX, SSTV and the rest) work again on a receiver protected by a PIN — the app's decoder
connection was being turned away. - FM-DX on a big window: the dial and the station logo grow into the free space; a phone-sized window is unchanged.
- The clock in the status row shows UTC again whenever there is room.
- Stability: an Airspy HF+ server no longer crashes when its USB stream stalls; fixes for a waterfall crash on leaving
the receiver screen and an audio crash on reconnect.
Since RC6
- KiwiSDR and OpenWebRX receivers show their name and location in the top right of the spectrum, as UberSDR, FM-DX and
VibeServer already did. - Server: the radio order list drags the moment you use a mouse, and every card has up and down buttons; radios can be
added, removed, paused and reordered with the admin password from anywhere, including the server's internet address. - Web client: the decoder box takes your chosen font colour, and the station bar no longer flickers in DAB.
Since RC5
- Servers notice their radios. When a radio is unplugged, swapped for another or taken by another program, the server's
setup page says so and offers what to do: add a new radio, replace the missing one keeping all its settings, pause one
that is away for a while, or remove it. (Admin, on the server's own network. On a Mac the VibeServer app's window
manages radios as before.) - A radio another app on the server is using shows as in use by another app on the server's page, in the directory
and in the app, and is not offered to listeners. - Radios can be dragged into the order you want them listed.
- The per-band gain ceiling list always shows its bands, even for a radio that is not running yet.
- The Temporary share switch shows the share the server really has, and when it ends.
