VibeSDR 10.5 (500) — prerelease

pre-release3 hours ago

Prerelease for Onfliner.

The app carries its own basemap now. The HFDL map drew aircraft over a void because it asked the instance for map data, and for HFDL that instance is an UberSDR, which serves aircraft (200) and not maps (404). Our vector maps exist so the app stops depending on anyone else for a basemap — OpenStreetMap blocked us for hammering their tiles — so tier0+tier1 are embedded and served by the app itself. Works on UberSDR, KiwiSDR, a local dongle, and offline.

AGC: the band-contrast veto could not fire on a strong station. The loop refuses a climb when separation gets worse, or when separation improves and band contrast collapses. In between — separation essentially unchanged — nothing judged it, and that is exactly where a strong station lives. Measured across three RTL-SDR Blog V4s: climbing 22.9 → 29.7 dB on BBC Northampton cost 21 dB of headroom on one box and 38 dB on another. The gate is dropped; the veto still only ever refuses, never asks for gain.

Not yet validated on air — the next step is re-running the same measurement against a box carrying it.

Also carries the RDS deviation calibration and the advanced RDS panel corrections from 499.
