For the Airspy R2 / Mini, and for anyone running a server on a 32-bit machine.
Airspy: the Sensitive and Linear gain slider is actually there now
Choosing Sensitive or Linear left you with no gain control at all. The slider was on screen
but disabled, because it was being driven from a table of discrete gains that an Airspy
does not have — those two modes are a single 0–21 index that the radio looks up to set the
LNA, mixer and VGA together. It is now that one slider, and it appears under the mode picker
you just used. Free mode is unchanged: the three stage sliders and the two AGC switches.
Also fixed for the Airspy since the last build: the gain mode no longer reverts to Free on
reconnect, LNA AGC and Mixer AGC stop switching themselves back on, the NR slider is
remembered, and the WFM bandwidth reaches ±250 kHz as the server always did.
The waterfall runs at the rate it says it does
A server could be asked for 20 frames a second and quietly send 7.8 — the same 7.8 whatever
you asked for, on every 32-bit machine (a Pi 2, an Android TV box, any VibeServer Lite host).
Not slow hardware: the frames were computed and then thrown away, half of them, every block,
on boxes that were 50% idle. Measured after the fix: 20 asked → 19.8 delivered, and 5/10/20
all land exactly.
Update your server too — sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade vibeserver (5.6.46), or
the VibeServer Lite APK. The fix is server-side; the app alone will not help.
Also in this build
- NR / NB / AN indicators show only what you switched on, and in the mode you are in.
They were reading the FM demodulator's own always-on settings, so they sat lit for
everyone, in every mode — including medium wave, where that chain is not even running. - DAB is remembered across a restart. Leave a receiver on a multiplex and it comes back
on it, rather than on the DAB frequency in FM. - SDRplay: the antenna selector, HDR, the MW notch and the 24 MHz reference now appear in
the browser client and the setup page as well as the app. RSPdx / dx-R2 owners had an
aerial switch in one client only. - The server clock shows a small server glyph, so you can tell it from your own.
- Restarting a Linux server brings its radios back with it.
Android 7.0+. Sideload: allow install from unknown sources, then open the APK.
