Stride v35.0.0
v35.0.0 - 2026-10-06
Stride Wind-Down and Transfer of Community Pool to Osmosis
v35 begins the wind-down of the Stride chain. The v35 upgrade handler freezes liquid staking, hands chain authority to the team multisig, unstakes all STRD, and moves holder funds and the community pool off Stride to Osmosis.
Upgrade Features
-
Wind down liquid staking (#1531, #1532, #1541). Removes every user- and admin-facing message the wind-down no longer needs: liquid stake, LSM liquid stake, redeem, host zone registration, trade routes, rebates, auctions, airdrops and legacy claims. Message types stay registered so historical txs still decode. Every redemption rate is frozen: the epoch logic that moves stake or the rate is removed (rate updates, reinvestment, delegation, rebalancing, reward transfers, record creation), along with the slash callback's rate rewrite.
-
Wind-down upgrade handler cleanup (#1533). Turns off stakeibc autopilot and the ICA oracles. Removes liquid stake and redeem from the ICA host allow-list. Moves wasm upload access and the deploy-key contract admins to gov. Deprecates comdex-1, deletes the dYdX trade route, and empties the rate limiter. Resets stale
DelegationChangesInProgressflags and purges the haqq slash-path and withdrawal-balance ICQs. Reconciles haqq_11235-1 delegations (net −1,393 ISLM), applied only if every tracked delegation still matches its pinned value. stakedym is deprecated and left halted. -
Return host-chain funds to Osmosis (#1534). Adds the admin txs
MsgUndelegateFromValidators,MsgTransferFromIcaandMsgTransferStaketiaClaimBalance. Together they unbond host-zone stake and send the proceeds over hard-coded per-host channels to the Osmosis vault. -
Sweep holder tokens off Stride to Osmosis (#1535, #1536). Adds
MsgSweepTokensOffStride, a batched transfer gated to the sweep operator. It sends ustrd, stutia and non-deprecated stTokens to holders' Osmosis addresses, and sends whitelisted IBC vouchers back to their source chains. Protocol multisigs, safes, the operator, and module and blocked addresses are skipped. -
Hand chain authority to the team multisig and undelegate all STRD (#1544). The consensus-params authority and the POA admin move to the team multisig (
stride1k8c2m5cn322akk5wy8lpt87dd2f4yh9azg7jlh), which can then submit later upgrades directly once stake is gone. New gov proposal submission is closed by raising the min deposit to 1e18 ustrd (expedited 2e18). Every x/staking delegation is undelegated in full with the standard 14-day unbonding time. Delegate, redelegate, create-validator and cancel-unbonding are blocked, including through the ICA host allow-list. Max unbonding entries is raised to 100, and each validator's commission is clamped to its outstanding rewards. -
Transfer the community pool to Osmosis (#1548). After the stake is gone, gov can no longer pass a community pool spend, so the upgrade handler moves the community pool out while it still can. Every whole coin, in every denom, goes to the team multisig. The multisig then IBC-transfers those funds off Stride to the Osmosis vault (
osmo1k8c2m5cn322akk5wy8lpt87dd2f4yh9afcd7af), sending whitelisted vouchers back to their source chains. Each denom transfers on its own, so a denom that fails is logged and skipped while the rest still move. Anything left over can be spent later by the multisig as chain authority.
Getting Prepared for the Upgrade
As always, we recommend validators use 64GB of RAM. If you are unable to have 64GB of RAM, at a minimum have a total of 64GB of swap set to prevent out of memory errors.
We highly recommend upgrading with Cosmovisor. To do this, please manually build and copy the strided binary to:
$DAEMON_HOME/cosmovisor/upgrades/v35/bin/In case anything concerning happens at upgrade time, we will notify all validators immediately on the #cc-announcements channel.
