Highlights

  • Actions can accept file uploads with per-file progress, size limits, and extension filters, and return downloadable files. Uploads finish before the action runs; services can request automatic cleanup of returned files.

  • Public domains on services that StartOS forwards directly, without securing the connection itself, now work over IPv6 as well as IPv4.

  • A service update can no longer turn on one of your public domains by itself.

  • On those services, a public domain and the public IP addresses it uses now turn on and off together. If some were on and others off, all of them turn off after this update, so a domain that was working may stop until you turn it back on. Check your public domains after updating.

  • Improve Server Pure Ethernet reliability by disabling Energy Efficient Ethernet by default, while preserving explicit profile settings.

  • Reject source-preserving proxy connections when the client's address cannot be preserved, instead of substituting the host's address. Services on unproxied TLS bindings need an IPv6 listener to accept IPv6 clients; TLS rejection does not trigger automatic IPv4 fallback.

Added

Fixed

  • Display apostrophes and other special characters correctly in action-form list headings.

  • Correct the maximum text-length error message.

  • Long dropdown lists keep their background all the way down, so the page behind no longer shows through the options.

  • Show server-provided plaintext HTTP error details and preserve meaningful timeout and cancellation errors.

  • The installer no longer offers the USB drive it was booted from as the OS drive or the data drive.

  • Automatic firewall configuration (PCP) now opens IPv6 ports on home routers, so a public address published over IPv6 is reachable without a manual firewall rule.

  • Numeric forms preserve zero defaults and honor bounds set to zero.

  • Public domains on services that StartOS forwards directly, without securing the connection itself, now work over IPv6 as well as IPv4.

  • A service update can no longer turn on one of your public domains by itself.

  • Sideloaded packages appear in Installed services with upload progress before the upload finishes.

  • Show registry contact email addresses alongside GPG identities in Trusted Keys.

  • Record virtual-host client/service connection failures at trace level instead of flooding normal logs. Use start-cli server set-log-level trace for temporary start-core/start-os trace output, or choose error, warn, info, or debug. The startup log filter is restored when the daemon restarts.
