v1.79.1 (2026-11-04)
Release Highlights
- Notify on new failures again, score ATA thresholds by worsening direction, and complete replacement-risk coverage (#1099) - Fixes #1076, Fixes #1077, Fixes #1078, Fixes #1079, Fixes #1084, Fixes #1091, Fixes #1093, Fixes #1095, Fixes #1097
- Change-only notifications fire again on new SMART failures, ATA observed-threshold scoring follows the worsening direction so a worse value never earns a milder status, usage counters 4 and 192 no longer warn on healthy drives, and the replacement-risk table reports the trend, the value and every critical attribute. Scheduled reports name the attribute, its value and its threshold, the dashboard temperature day view draws every drive as a continuous line, and release builds for darwin and freebsd no longer depend on a single macOS runner.
- Notifications with "Repeat Notifications: Only when the value has changed" compare the value an attribute's status is evaluated on, and treat a passed-to-failed or warning-to-failed transition as a change. Previously the comparison used a field that is 0 for most ATA and all NVMe attributes, so a new failure never notified. Contributed by @RyoKusnadi. (#1086)
- ATA observed thresholds are scored by the worst failure rate reached in the attribute's worsening direction, so severity never improves as an attribute degrades and values past the last bucket keep the worst covered rate. Attributes 4 (Start/Stop Count) and 192 (Power-off Retract Count) drop their population buckets and fall back to the manufacturer threshold, which stops the permanent warning on healthy drives. (#1088, #1094)
- Replacement risk scores the trend column, reports the value the scorer used, weights every critical ATA attribute, and weights the three non-critical attributes that can warn, so an amber attribute on the detail page is never missing from the Replacement Risk table. (#1089, #1092, #1096)
- Scheduled report warning and failure lines show the attribute name, its evaluated value and its threshold instead of Attribute 3 () = 0. Contributed by @RyoKusnadi. (#1085)
- Dashboard temperature chart, day view: a drive sampled less often than its neighbours is drawn as a continuous line between its own readings, and the shared tooltip reports its value; real outages stay visible as gaps. (#1087)
- CI and release builds cross-compile darwin and freebsd on ubuntu runners, so release runs no longer fail on queued macOS jobs cancelled at the 15-minute wall. (#1098)
- Dependency updates: Angular group (14 packages), marked 18.1.2, frontend dev-dependencies group, go.yaml.in/yaml/v3 3.0.6, shoutrrr 0.22.1. (#1083, #1082, #1081, #1080, #1034)
