Welcome to 2.0!

Dorion originally started last year, on Sept. 17th 2022. Now, after about a year (+ a month), Dorion has reached 2.0 stage. Thanks to all who have been using Dorion since it's baby days, and to any newcomers who happened to come across it!

Major Changes

These are the big, breaking changes. If you have questions about anything, feel free to ask the Discord!

Remove Vencord dependency in favor of Shelter

You can still use Vencord with Dorion! However, it's not longer included. Instead, all^[1] Dorion functionality has been rewritten into Shelter plugins.

^[1] I forgot about PTT, and when looking into re-implementing it, it looked like a pain in the ass. Next release I promise LOL.

Why?

You may recall the events of a couple weeks ago, where just about every client modification broke due to a Discord update. This is by no means any fault of Vencord, or BetterDiscord, or the other affected client mods, but rather just a consequence of how they work. Shelter, on the other hand, works a bit uniquely and is more resilient to change. This means less white screens for you!

How do I use Vencord now?

1. Download browser.js and browser.css. You may want to rename them to Vencord.js/css. https://github.com/Vendicated/Vencord/releases/tag/devbuild
2. Move the .js file to your plugins folder (accessible from Dorion settings, this varies per OS)
3. Close/reopen Dorion Settings and Vencord will show as "enabled". Set it to "preload" as well.
4. Save & Restart
5. Apply the browser.css file however you'd like (Inline CSS plugin, append the contents to whatever theme you're using, or just set the file itself as a theme if you don't use other themes)

MacOS and Linux(?) Voice Support

If you get permission-spam or some other problem, feel free to create an issue. Linux support is unconfirmed but should work.

Improved Top Bar

The top bar kinda sucked, now it doesn't!

New icon

The Dorion icon ALSO sucked, now it doesn't! (or at least, it sucks less)

Other changes

Lots of little code tweaks and fixes. Dorion should now be even more resilient and stable, and now each platform is on the same page in terms of features!

Known Issues
