Changes
Looks like Discord updated, seeing as just about everything fell apart instantly less than a day ago (#125). That's mostly fixed now, but you should keep in mind that most themes are now broken, as Discords class names have changed.
- Pull in all of the Vencord fixes
- Add binary autoupdating
- Not only can Dorion update Vencordorion now, but it can also update itself! On Windows, it will automatically download and run the MSI if you are on a non-portable install. On MacOS, it will download and open the DMG.
The Future
That wasn't very fun, huh? Opening Discord to a white screen and finding out you were one of tens of thousands to do so? Would it shock you to know that a client mod exists that did not flashbang everyone last night? That client mod is called Shelter.
I am considering moving the Dorion frontend-backend to be Shelter-based rather than Vencord-based, since it means less things like this happening. Of course, while last night was not the fault of Vencord in any capacity (and I do still love it and plan to support it in Dorion!), I think running something more versatile in the future is probably a good idea, even if it is seemingly a bit more limited.
I have already converted all Dorion settings pages into a Shelter plugin. Assuming I can convert everything else, Dorion may eventually switch backends entirely. But who knows! Only time can tell.
Thanks for being patient!
