Crossfade between tracks, playlist editing from wherever you are, and a Videos section in search.

New features

  • Crossfade: tracks fade into each other instead of cutting. Off by default and marked experimental, in Settings ▸ Playback ▸ Audio, 1 to 10 seconds. (#254)
  • Videos in search: search results now have a Videos section for covers, live sets and fan remixes, so they no longer mean leaving for YouTube Music. "Show more" pages through them, and "Hide music videos" removes the shelf entirely. (#209, #266)
  • Remove from this playlist in the player bar and queue track menus, so a wrongly matched import can go without opening the playlist page. (#270)
  • Albums and playlists can be saved into one of your playlists straight from their card menu, which previously only worked from the album page. (#269)
  • Select mode can remove the selected tracks from a playlist, in one request rather than one per track.
  • Polish is in the language picker.

Improvements

  • YouTube's own text comes back in the app's language. Home shelf titles, the mood chips and playlist subtitles are YouTube's strings, not ours, and they were always English whatever the interface was set to.
  • Updated Turkish, Chinese (Traditional) and Polish translations.

Bug fixes

  • Skipping, pausing, toggling or seeking mid-crossfade left the previous track playing under the silence, or started the new one at a third of its volume. The fade is cancellable now, and clamped to the time actually left. (#254)
  • The player bar kept the previous song's length for the whole of the next track when crossfading. (#254)
  • A track removed from a playlist came back after changing the sort, and unliking from Liked Music left the rating showing everywhere else.
  • Windows tray and taskbar icons are sized for the surface drawing them instead of handed to the shell to stretch, which is why the tray icon looked ragged on every install. (#225)
  • Local albums group by folder when no file tags an album artist, so a compilation is one card again instead of one per performer. (#268)
  • Searching with the Songs filter wrote the query to your YouTube search history twice. (#203)

New contributors

  • @itachi-re: added the openSUSE Tumbleweed install row to the README.

macOS: the app is signed ad-hoc, so Gatekeeper says it "is damaged". Clear it with xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/limusic.app.

On Linux only the AppImage self-updates. The .rpm is a normal package, so rpm users install a new rpm.
