This release is mostly about seeking. Audio now streams through a local proxy that works around YouTube's throttling of open-ended range requests, so jumping around inside a track restarts in tens of milliseconds instead of over a second. There are also fixes for duplicate queue and library entries, and four more languages in the picker.
New features
- Korean, Russian, Ukrainian and Traditional Chinese are now in the language picker.
Improvements
- Seeking is much faster. Audio is fetched in bounded chunks through a local proxy, so the buffer fills at full speed instead of at playback rate. Set
LIMUSIC_NO_AUDIO_PROXY=1to go back to the direct stream. - The back buffer is now 64 MiB, so scrubbing backwards inside a long mix no longer refetches from the network.
Bug fixes
- Seeking far past the buffered part of a long track could kill playback silently, with no error and no skip to the next song.
- Resuming a saved position, retrying a failed track and joining a Listen Together session all restarted the track from the beginning.
- Playing a single song queued its radio twice.
- The sidebar, the Library page and the add-to-playlist picker could all come up empty while paging through a large library.
- Buttons show the pointer cursor on hover again.
New contributors
- @TeseySTD: fixed the false "session expired" errors that appeared while the session was being refreshed.
